We just miss each other to much so going to go ahead and start planning another visit for him for in February. We know about all the ties from home and if he is denied he will be sent back to england, my question is if that does happen does anyone come out and tell you whats going on? I mean obviously I will be picking him up from the airport but worst case scenario and they dont let him in does someone come out and tell me? Or if Im there waiting for hours and I go ask at one of the desks does anyone tell you whats going on? I know Im probably worrying over nothing, but I cant help to think of the worst and cant imagine spending hours upon hours at the airport if something didnt go right and noone telling me anything and me just standing there waiting not knowing what to do :(

My best guest would be "No" they will not tell you anything for security reasons. Just make sure he doesn't refer to you as your wife if he is coming in on a K1 Vias.

At this point in time Im worried about everything. Its not that I think he will be turned away but I like to be prepared for the worst.. You know murphy's law. If anything can go wrong it will. As far as me going over there we have many reasons. The biggest one is I have a 4 year old son from my first marriage who I share joint custody with my ex husband, I have him Sat-Tues my ex has him Wed-Fri. Every moment I have with my son is special to me and even those 3 days apart I have already kills me. I could never leave my son for weeks and go to another country even if it is to see the man I love, I love my son more and because of the agreement and the days we split taking him with me is not an option. Other smaller things include my job, my home, and the fact im scared to death of airplanes. All in all even with the K1 pending its easier for us for him to come here.

I was with my fiance, now husband, at the POE at JFK. I noticed there were representatives of the different airlines comming in and out of the room where all the visa people had to wait to get their clearance, they have access to the officers and know them, also they have access to the people waiting. My advice would be, if he doesn't show up for a long time, go to the airline he is traveling in on and talk to them about checking on him. I'm not sure they will do that, but while we were waiting, there was a Royal Air Maroc guy that came in there several times and talked to the immigration officers and to us. Also saw other representatives from other airlines. But you have to allow plenty of time, ours took about 2 1/2 hrs, because there was a long line.

I have heard there is a POE in Dublin. He could always fly there, go through U.S. POE pre-clearance and if he is turned away, he's closer to home and you won't be waiting at the airport.

A good friend of mine had the unfortunate experience of having her fiance (from the UK) denied entry after arriving in the U.S. She was at the airport to pick him up and waited for a very long time. She was eventually paged by the airline and was told that he was denied entry and was being flown back to the UK.

Have him bring tons of proof of ties to the UK, letter from employer, apartment lease, pay stubs, return ticket. Good luck!

Ah, tyvm :) Yeah we are going to bring a letter from his employer, his rent agreement, bank statements, NOA2 and Interview Date if we have it by then which we hope we do, (we think it will work better in our favor if we show we know the K1 process and have plans on finishing it out) his return ticket, and letters from his parents/family/friends all stating they expect him back. We also know to travel light and not bring alot of luggage which is no problem for him lol when he came last time before the K1 had been started he stayed for 3 months and only brought 1 suitcase, maybe its a guy thing lol I know I would have had like 10 suitcases if I was staying somewhere besides home for 3 months :P

I know it's not always possible for everyone, but when my wife visited me, we have a "share" plan with Verizon wireless. She has her own cell phone, and although it obviously won't work in Turkey...............she always brang it with her when she left me. . She would power it off after she left the USA...and not power it back on until she got back into US airspace. The phone would actually still last and work even after a 3 month separation.

So, I bring this up because it must be hard on those whose spouses are taken to secondary questioning, and heaven forbid even sent back. It must be doubly hard when you are not even told what is going on. So, that's where having your spouse bring a cell phone might come in handy. They could call you from the area they are in, and let you know...for good or bad, whether they have run into problems. It would at least let you know what is going on.

I know not possible for everyone...........but for those who can...it's a suggestion.....to avoid being left in "the dark" when a spouse arrives at a US port of entry.

While in principle this would be a good idea, the problem is that cell phones are forbidden to be used in the arrival facility. Simply need to be careful as I do not know what they do if you do and you get caught.

YMMV

I've seen people use cell phones in the forbidden areas either talking or sms. Usually they just get yelled at if they are talking but not if they are sending a quick text message.

And I guess if someone's denied entry, one will still have to wait at a gate prior to boarding the plane back. And at a gate one can use a cellphone and usually (at least in the US) there are public phones (coin or card) set up at the gates also...

short history:

2001 - met in Germany

April 2003 - fell in love

Aug 2004 - go to the US for internship

Feb 2005 - both return to Germany

Aug 2006 - getting married

DCF timeline:

09/01/2006 - filed the petition in Frankfurt

09/06/2006 - medical in Frankfurt

09/26/2006 - faxed checklist

10/05/2006 - received interview invite

11/01/2006 - INTERVIEW in Frankfurt - approved!
