Hi everyone,

My parents have applied for my i-130 and i recently have been approved. My i-130 has been approved (but not my AOS) and my information was sent to the National Visa Center for further approval processing. I met someone while i was waiting for my status change and we want to get married.

My question is what should be done and how will this affect my status? We really don't know what to do and if it will have any effect on my situation. Can someone chime in on this since I haven't found any similar situation in these forums.

Thank you very much

You might want to give the full information, I can guess, but may guess wrong.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I'm applying for a green card and the USCIS recently approved my i-130 and informed me that they've sent the approval to the NVC since I am over 21 and I need to wait for the center gets to my priority date for further processing and interview.

I knew this was going to be pulling teeth.

Are your Parents US Citizens.

What nationality is the person you are in a relationship with.

Through you Father it is about 7 years, through marriage about a year, so assuming you are not nearly there with your Father better to go with your BF.

A fiancee is currently quicker than a spouse.

That is what she said.

If you are outside the US, then the K-1 or CR-1 route. No waiting for a priority date to become available in those cases. If you are in the US and entered legally, then marry and file the I-130 and I-485 concurrently with spouse.

~ Moved from K-1 Process to What Visa Do I Need - visa path for OP seems unclear at the moment ~

You are here for 90 days on the VWP?
