Timeline

Journey started July 2013. Made to Embassy interview in January 2013. Visa denied because meeting date on I-129F I submitted did not match date answered by my fiance(she had the correct date). Petition returned to USCIS via NVC. Took a while and then I was told case closed because I-129F Petition had expired though I had been assured by embassy staff that petition does not expired until you have been denied finally. Maybe I heard wrong. Was told to start fresh application. Did so, and petition was returned saying I-129F form was outdated (same form I had used for previous filing, but I failed to notice the expiration date at the bottom). Used the updated I-129F and filed again Jume 2014. Well, my timeline tells the rest of the story.
I'm putting out this story just to let everyone know that stupid little mistakes cost you time and denial. Don't get frustrated. Get someone different from you to check your forms and documents for correction. Even with all this, my petition still had a wrong date (typed a 2 instead of a 5 because 5 is directly above 2 on the numeric keypad). I just corrected that mistake with CSV and got a text message they have corrected it. Folks, go over all documents submitted or to be submitted, as you don't want to find out you made a mistake at the interview level. :dancing: Good luck to all!

Thanks Kay&Lay. You cannot let your timeline stress you. I need my fiancee by me for several reasons, besides the fact it is very rough and lonely without her. Thanks to Skype and work, the days tick by, albeit slowly. But what can you do but wait and wait. Considering how government agencies work, and the heavy load of petitions and paperwork USCIS has to process on a daily basis, I think they are doing an awesome job! Despite my disappointment at being denied the first time, I think the CO could have ascertained a bona-fide relationship with more questions having read some of the questions here on this forum, but when they have thousands of interviews to conduct, then I don't blame some of them for coming to a quick negative conclusion. It's not their job to prove a bona-fide relationship for me. I failed to do that when I made a mistake on the form. Just remember that this is also a national security issue and that a lot of these relationships are fraudulent. So, we innocent and bona-fide ones get thrown into the mix. Funny thing is that it's usually the fraudulent ones who get approved and find their way here because they do their homework.

Just pray hard and all will be well. Keep busy like I do and do the things that make you happy (but stay out of trouble (F)). I only wish USCIS realizes how much it is costing me to maintain this long distance relationship. Just the calls and Skype alone is enough to break you.

Hang in there...you're not doing too bad at all. Hopefully, by year's end 2014, you should be united for good with your loved one.

Hello all. We are joining you in this exciting journey (I choose to be excited because I know how stressful it is to wait)! Just received NOA1 today and of course I'm in NYC so our processing center will be Dallas. I filled in our timeline and it says the case can be expected to be adjudicated November 23, 2014 to December 31, 2014 :clock: .

Did not expect it would take THAT long, eek. But does this mean that's when we can expect to get an invite for the interview?

Good luck to all of you and let's stick together! Also, those of you in Cali processing center, you are lucky, lucky people! I envy you but wish you all the best!
