It would be "semantics" if it wasn't specifically used that way in the past to dehumanize black folks.

Sorry old friend but I have to call BS on that. The term Black wasn't even around back then

Did you think a meant a black snake, or black dog. Of course I meant black guy it's in the title and understood

back when?

Back when really derogatory terms like Boy N word, etc were used

It's hard to keep up with you liberals

I don't use Boy and Black in the same sentence and you guys wig

Ahhh Really Ok I am listing but

I mean don't you think that is semantics

I would have no problem if a black friend said his daughter was dating a white. Guy would be assumed.

How is that any different that saying "the plight of Blacks in America"

Sounds like PC run amok

I want a Marvin ruling here ???

Well, since you asked:

It's something that is exclusively said to demean people. As G pointed out, leaving off the sex turns them into some type of object, rather than a human being. You'll never hear someone say just white. It's white guy or girl. The closest you'll get is maybe an ethnicity, like Italian or Mexican, which is still on the touchy side.

there's nothing wrong with using boy and black in the same sentence.

unless you're saying something like.."look at that boy" pointing to a full grown man "he's a black"

I didn't mean the 1800's. You know what, forget the past reference. Break down the English. Calling them "a black" instead "a black guy" makes the adjective "black" the noun. Got it?

It's all about the context. No one will ever say a or the whites. It's white people, or the white people.

I just disagree. Darn everything is racist when it comes to you people :)

Serious I do disagree but I am glad you guys told me that, cause honest to Injun I did not mean it that way

So If I say you are a sailor

Or Lucky is a Texan

Or some is a Jew

Or a Georgian

Or I am married to a Philippina

etc etc

that is all racist ?
