If you got married in the US, they he can do an event change ,and add to the insurance you, i did not put my wife social but, the HR asked me for copy of marriage certificate and date of birth. again this is my experience with my company it could different for yours just call the HR

Most plan providers have a time limit on when you can make a change due to a qualifying event. I believe mine was 60 days from the date of the event. If they're outside their plans limit then they need to wait for open enrollment.
