Department of state won't tell me anything for my K1 visa

Hey,

I'm new here but so far me and my fiancé have got to the stage where we are waiting for the interview date all forms submitted, I had completed my medical before the application got to London.

I've been checking the CEAC:

The application was received at London on 19 May

I submitted my readiness on 20 May

Status updated date changed from 19 May to 21 May

We waited thinking maybe the update was an interview date

Status updated date changed again to 27 May

So I rang the DOS on 27 May thinking I could get my interview date from them as I had seen on forums people doing so but they said they don't have fiancé visa info and referred my to NVC, called them, they told me they don't keep info on the case once it has been forwarded, referred me to London embassy, they told me to wait for the letter. It was all very frustrating and I don't understand why after seeing so many people had called the DOS and received their interview date why they told me that they don't have any info on fiancé visa applications, I don't see any other reason for the status updating a second time if it wasn't my interview date because there is nothing left for it to update for.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Therein is your answer. Too many people called day after day so they just quit giving K1 information at the end of January.

Oh haha, well thanks for letting me know, we are impatient and have been doing everything possible to speed it up along the way, so considering our packet was received at CSC on March 10 and we are now waiting for interview I guess we're not doing too bad

No, not bad at all. They don't do immediate turnarounds to assign an interview the day your readiness form is received. As long as your medical file isn't misplaced because it arrived before your case, then you should hear something by next week. However 3 weeks would not be unusual.

Well I submitted my readiness last week as I wrote in my original post, and the case status has updated twice since, first one would have been receiving readiness on 21st and second I assume is interview date assigned on 27th

Hi FlyingPhoenix,

Your timeframe sounds similar to mine. My fiancée tried calling the DOS when we got to that stage, but got bounced back to NVC and vice versa. This was right around the time they stopped giving out info on K1 interview dates, as Nich-Nick explained. I got my interview appointment letter a couple of days after the case status updated for the second time, so I expect they have set your interview date and you will probably receive the letter in the post in a few more days. Mine was scheduled exactly one month from the date on the letter, which seems to be about the norm for London appointments.

Good luck!

May 19? Application DS-160 received or file received at London?

May 19? Application DS-160 received or file received at London?

Application received at London, medical and DS-160 were completed before application arrived at London as I already had my case number

The DS-160 is the visa application. That's why I was confused. So your application arrived prior to May 19. The approved petition case file arrived May 19.
