Ok, i am petitioning k-3 for my wife in China, we have been married for almost three years now. Several questions

1. For addresses, should i fill out hers as in English, or in Chinese?

2. We got married in China of course. So should I have her notarize and translate the documents in China? or Should I do it in states?

3. Do I need to submit any evidences ro prove the bona fide of our relationship for 130 and 129 since we have been apart most of the time?

Thanks for any input. any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm not 100% sure but i have read on many occasions that if not in english "please translate" and given that you are applying for a US visa, i wouldn't risk presuming that the US officer reading your case can read chinese... i dunno...

going through HELL

1. In the form I-130, question 20. asks for the name and address in her native language as does form I129F, question 16.

2. I'm not sure what the process is for China, but it does need to be translated. For us, my husband had to bring our marriage license to the ministry of foreign affairs and then to the ministry of justice where they translate it. After it's translated he has to get the translation authenticated by the US Embassy in Cairo. In other words, I don't think your wife can just translate it herself...there's certain qualified people who are able to do it and then the embassy needs to authenticate it. Might want to look in the regional boards below and ask the peeps who are familiar with China.

3. That I'm not sure about. I would assume that the marriage certificate is sufficient at this point, but from what I've heard it's good to explain any unusual things upfront. Some else could probably clarifiy this better than me.
