Some people are just idiots. Next time she tries to say something, cut her off and don't let her finish. There ain't not a damn thing wrong with what you are doing. Hell, Karen and I are both multi-racial (even though you can't see it) we're both caucasian and native american. Karen is also part irish (which means she can't hold her liquor).

I'm part Native American - Cherokee (that shows more than my Irish) and it's true, I can't hold my liqour very well. Not good of an Irishwoman, eh?

I remember once when I was in high school I had this really good friend that was the only black student in the school. She was picked on by a group of snobby rich girls who went to tanning beds several days a week to make their skin darker than hers. How ironic is that?

Closed minded people like this really get under my skin!!!!! Really makes me mad, because my fiancee is pakistani, and when he has visited me here in the states, I can tell certain people have treated him differently here as well. Asking him questions right off the bat like "Are you Muslim" instead of "HI, nice to meet you" It is ridiculous!!!!! and it makes me very angry, we just try and blow it off and avoid those kind of closed minded people.

There's no reason to be indignant over your relatives beliefs. It's no different than the US congress acting absurd and hysterically over the U.A.E ports deal.

Ever heard the saying "if you don't have anything helpful to say, don't say anything at all"?

Why do you have to politicise everything? Did it ever occur to you that what an ENGLISH family think of someone's fiance has NOTHING to do with US politics - regardless of your ardent desire to spread your particular brand of Bushism? Or maybe that a post where someone is having a rant about something personal is really not the place to even try?
