Hello everyone! My wife (beneficiary) and I (USC) are in the process of putting together our I-130 and -485 packets. I looked through the many useful topics and posts on visajourney in regards to my questions, but was wondering if I could get some help and confirmation through here, just to be thorough! Any help and suggestions would be super helpful!

1. For my (the USC) G-325a, the box to enter the 'File Number' or A#, what should go there? I am a US Citizen through my Mom's naturalization. She became a US Citizen through naturalization when I was a child. I'm not sure if I personally have my A# or where I could find that. Would it be OK to just put 'N/A'? If not, what would be the best way of obtaining that A#.

2. For both packets, would it suffice to just have the copy of the petitioner's US Passport instead of Birth Certificate?

3. for the I-864, I only started working full time last year July 2013 right after I graduated from college. So my Tax Return and W-2s that I'm attaching with the I-864 only show income for half a year's worth of my salary. Would this be OK? Or would it bring up problems? Would it help if I attach a few paystubs from this year also?

4. I see on the I-130 checklist instruction page on VisaJourney which documents need to be official and which need to be copys. But just to double check, would a copy of our marriage certificate suffice? Or do we need to send in two individual, certified copies--one for each packet?

5. My wife has an EAD card already through her F1 OPT program. However, the card does not specify an A#. Would she have an A# already since she went through this program? Or should we leave it as 'N/A'? Also, would be need to fill out the I-765 for her to renew her EAD card? Her program ends June 20th, and we need her to continue working at her job while we go through the AOS process.

THANK YOU in advance for those who reply. And sorry for all the various questions, we just want to be thorough and don't want to mess this up.

Hi guys, sorry for the bump, but I had another question to add if anyone could possibly know the answer:

6. For the I-864, the only copy of my Federal Income Tax Return is from Turbo Tax. Turbo Tax submitted a 1040EZ in my name when I used their program. Will a 1040EZ and the accompanying W-2s suffice as the supporting documents for I-864?

Thank you!

I'm new here so I won't attempt to answer all the questions. But, for number 4 - the visa journey and actual form instructions differ RE: copies vs. certified copies. I personally went with the instructions from the uscis website.

For number 6, the IRS website has the ability to download tax transcripts, I'd suggest using that method.

Thank you! I did what you said regarding the transcripts and I was able to access all of them!
