I was listening to an NPR show some time back that was interviewing representatives from the hotel industry and how they were trying to cater to the female business traveler. When asked what concrete steps they had implemented they all mentioned the curved shower curtain bar.

Blimey! I would have never guessed.

Women did this? The trick is to stick the curtain to the bath with a little water power. Strong surface tension and all.

I welcome the notion. It gives you just enough extra elbow room to move... Besides, ####### takes baths in hotels anymore? They should do away with tubs altogether and replace them with shower stalls. When was the last time anyone had a relaxing soaking bath at Motel 6 or Super 8?

The only hotels where you would be safe taking a bath are the very ones that have a separate huge shower stall anyway.

Yeah I was not being patronizing.. Businesses trying to cater to women implement some good ergonomic changes and above all make the place clean. Being a neat-nick I find it hard to function in an uncomfortable and dirty environment.

I think those are non-changed sizes but showing they are closer to the elevator.. The article shows some of the elongated spaces..

Japan has female only carts. But only during certain hours of the day when the men will run you over and stomp you to get into the train.

My wife and I were in Brazil for Carnaval this year and the subway/metro had female only cars (usually the last car on the train) they were marked with pink doors and the first two inches of the entrance of the car.. They are only restricted during business hours and were created to address complaints of men getting grabby when it was crowded.

Age old issue of punishing a whole group for the actions of some - though pretty minimal here and it seemed to have solved the problem in this case.

Ow yea. The grabby thing is a huge problem in Japan too. Guys putting their private parts on you on purpose. It was absolutely disgusting.
