What European entitlement wand? I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about . Real change is being brought about through education. Sadly most people in the US think the UN is some wacky old boys club or something, waving angry fists in the wind. The reality is there are a huge number of education programs that are under the UN umbrella, these will bring change, in the end.

Why do you wonder that? is that relevant in some way? Cultural differences are the route to this eveil, nothing to do with whether they belong to one religion or another. There are no US religious adherents of any denomination who advocate stoning, well not that I am aware of and yet all religious denominations are represented here, in quite significant numbers. Perhaps that tells you something, but likely not.

Ok, sorry, misread it. There wasn't a magic wand of enlightenment in Europe either, it has been a long and bloody road. Women are only just accepted as equals in European society, they were enfranchised in the mid 1900's and have only been accepted in the work place for 60 years. That's not exactly speedy progress now is it?
