You guys think rap is used to purposely keep black people down?

I thought it was crack. I guess I should stop living in the 80s. I wonder what the white man will be using in the next decade.

i don't think there is any one person or group controlling the music industry for the purpose of keeping a particular race in poverty. it's much more complicated than that. and crack is in the mix somewhere too, karee.

The white man using crack to keep them down was sooo 1980s I had black friend tell me that one day. When I asked how in the world all white people were responsible for that, he replied. We have you ever seen a black man fly drugs into the states in a plane. Well i have never seen anyone fly drugs into the states in a plane, but are you saying black people can't figure out how to fly ?

The ####### that is keeping them down is this exact kind of nonsense, perpetrated by poverty pimps like Sharpton who want to keep black people under his thumb and make millions doing it

And lastly why is ok to imply "white People" which includes me conspire to keep the black man down. Is that not a blanket statement that judges a whole group and stereotypes them.

THe man... LMAO I thought undercover brother took the man out

ugh. the ignorance in here is just too much.

sentencing disparities with minorities - cocaine and crack. READ STUFF NB.

Just because I don't agree with you, you don't have to call me ignorant. I am very much as confident in my opinion as you are in yours. I also feel that you are uninformed, but I will not stoop to insulting you.

The only thing that really keeps the black man down is the white woman. The white she devil herself.

Technically "ignorant" when used in context to a specific subject is not an insult but a descriptor.

Shhhhhhhh

YES.

but since they're white, if they ever figure out how to form a complete sentence, they'll not have so many odds stacked against them. they're lucky in that respect.

As a hiring manager I was never told to hire white men.. I was however told to seek out and hire women, and I was told to fast track them into management positions. I was not allowed to *not* give an interview to any women that applied... and when the occasional black male applied and came in for an interview I had to give a detailed explanation if I hired a white male over him. My superiors hem and hawed if I tried to promote a white male but did cartwheels and added it to power point presentations when I promoted women. All this despite the fact that my area was the only IT area in the company with more women than men.

Our board at one point (a fortune 500 company) was 58% female and launched a program to try and attract more women to the board as part of an overall diversity program. All women that join IT in this company are assigned a mentor to help guide them.

As a male I had to do considerably more to get the same promotion opportunities as women in my company or at least hope there were no women qualified for the job I was seeking. Several times I had to threaten to quit (and one time walk out the door) to get a position that had been left open for an extended period looking for a "qualified" person. If I had been a female I have no-doubt I could have ended up as president (well.. an exec) of the company.
