An aside, quite a few people I have seen post on VJ over the years have struck me as being somewhat wacky.

Should they be reported, to whom?

Strikes me is if every nutso was reported it would solve the unemployment situation just fielding those reports.

Funny how you and Marvin get so worked up about blind generalizations, then go on to tell us how all immigrants are taught to distrust blacks, and the swat team would be on any black trying to buy a gun etc.

Pot calling Kettle... Ummm Stainless Steel

Hardly. I made assumptions based on appearance and behavior.

I say this because I work around many foreigners and have met many who have told me this.

Ow my gosh, you are such a nice black person. We were told to be careful of black people because they are so dangerous.

From my own experience, not assumptions.

i think the ball was dropped when the cops talked to the kid and didn't pick up on any red flags. if a parent contacts police in regards their own child's stability, complete with you tube rants as evidence, something is going on. there are just way too many people who let their crazy out on the internet, that have no intention of actually hurting anyone.

But when I tell you my assumptions based on experience it's racist ?

When you call it out, it's statically based on what you've read and seen. When we call it out, we've lived it. I've been all over and been regarded as a problem based on my skin color alone. I've been asked if I sell drugs, do drugs, is in a gang, steal, or prone to violence probably more times than the folks here who might actually do those things.

 I think everyone needs a hug. That would solve a lot of problems. There's not enough people hugging each other.

Get away from me you tree hugging hippie!

yeah, i could stomach that sort of thing much better when i was a teenager. you're right, it's just sad.

especially when you think about how many rappers put their mothers up on pedastals, while going through baby mommas like toilet paper. i wonder where that disconnect occurs and what we can do to avoid it..

It's what sells. That's the problem. When you have women who have to refer to themselves as bytches in order to feel important, when being faithful and decent is considered corny, when being locked up is considered a badge of honor, when not having a job is looked upon as a good thing, we should be afraid.

I think we as a people have been in the dark for so long, we're rebelling against what we see is the system. The downside about that is, it's killing us as a people.

i don't think rap music is the culprit. it's one single tool in a massive operation to keep a certain portion of the population dependant and self destructing. one upworthy piece covering a father daughter dance in jail comes to mind. certainly, the long term effects of our systematic oppression of black men is in turn, destroying women as well. go figure.

Some people are just ignorant, some are not. But some people turn into what people make them. What is the use of constantly trying to be a presentable person if you are grouped together with all of the other non-presentable people anyway?

The difference between me and you is you let your one or two experiences give you an overall negative view of 98% of black people.

On the other hand, when I have a negative experience, it gives me a negative view of the idiots who provided the negative experience, not the majority of the race.

Truth. Folks like Bill O'Reilly want that to be the sole motivator, but there is so much more to it. I do think it does bring a certain edge to it.

Back then, the b-word was an instant fighting word. Now, it's to the point, you've got women calling themselves that. Mayweather got into a fight this weekend with TI over his wife. What was his words of choice? Control your bytch. And Tiny was supposed to be his friend.

Since you've become a liberal you've lost your ability to notice sarcasm.

So the white man invented rap music to surpass the black man

Hm?

Your statement is a little ridiculous. People having been mixing and nibbling here and there off of other people's music for centuries.

Elivs, James Brown, Michael Jackson, Beetles, Marvin Gaye, Aerosmith, need I go on?

And let's not forget about Vanilla Ice, who was a white rapper in 1985. And what about Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, a.k.a. Mark Wahlberg 1989? Did you forget he used to rap too?

All right, I have a question. This guy was online and people online knew of his youtube videos; someone posted a thread he participated in.

What can people on the internet do when they see things like this?

To be honest, when I hear of mass shootings and crimes and things, I sometimes wonder if someone on VJ did it.

Here we are in the other thread, arguing that VJ should not be a platform for racism, where others are arguing that it is just "different opinions" that people have.

People with opinions like the killer's won't change their mind, so does giving them a voice strengthen their resolve?

No, I do not think it does. What I do think however, is that this child had absolutely no sense of values, either because of some psycopathic syndrome or because he was emotionally immature. If you want to talk about entitlement, this is genuinely dangerous entitlement. No one is entitled to sex with whoever the hell they want just because they fancy them. However I expect the media has picked up a lot of sensational stuff and missed out a lot of mundane things that probably explain this tragedy better. As with the guy who wants to lock up everyone with aspergers, there is no way to lock people up for saying wacky stuff, if there was, you are right, half the gun owners on VJ would be answering questions about the value of life and how they decide who is a worthless human being and should be shot without evidence.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

It's a damn shame that we refer to women who we call our wives and mothers of our children as such. What's worse is these women think there's nothing wrong with it.

Maybe I'm by myself on this one but I think rap is used to keep us down. By paying these rappers to say the nastiest things about each other and themselves rather than helping one another, to promote spending money on material things instead of investing, to talk about joining gangs, drinking, and doing drugs rather than staying in school, going to college, or learning a trade, they've figured out a way to influence an entire race of people. I feel the same way about sport figures as well.
