Just got back from seeing Chelsea last Wednesday and it was simultaneously amazing and depressing. Amazing because actually being with each other (in that same room, at the same time, talking face to face) is simply the best thing in the world.

Getting on my flight back to the UK, leaving the perfect weather and that gorgeous, funny, intelligent, perfect girl for rain and loneliness is the worst thing in the world. We tell ourselves in the grand scheme of life it isn't much time to be apart until we don't have to be anymore, but it is just so hard right now.

I know exactly what you mean. I last visited in late March/early April and there is nothing more depressing than pulling up to that airport in the bright sunshine, getting on that long ### night-flight over the Atlantic, to have to go to Schiphol and then back over to our cold, grey little island... and when you do land looking around and realising that there's absolutely nothing to this place at all, that you don't belong here anymore.

Just remember what you're working towards and that one day, one of you won't have to leave again. Plus, on the upside, you're applying for a K1 which, as you said in the grand scheme won't keep you apart for too long. I'm more than likely gonna have to see out one more English winter before I get to live out my days in the Texan sun with my wife.

The weather was so perfect and we always have an amazing time when we're together. It's a real downer coming back to London. I'm from Australia, and I really did not anticipate how much I would miss the sunshine and hot weather and beaches.

My wife was the same when she spent three months here; she ended up really depressed as it was the dead of winter. I think she got seasonal affective disorder by the end. Either that or some definite vitamin D deficiency. The first time I visited I was just stoked that it was November and I was wearing just a t-shirt.

I went over in August last year and it was still hot. Reminded me of home so much.

Pretty much is! Only issue is, where I'm from (Brisbane, which is in Queensland) gets extremely humid during summer.

I know the feeling. I just got back last Sunday from 9 wonderful days in cold dreary England with my fiancé. (We stayed inside & snuggled most of the time so it's ok) leaving hurt so much. It was amazing seeing him, but I feel like half of me is missing. We talk everyday, but it's not the same. I know one day he'll be here, but not having an actual date to look forward to makes it even harder. I miss him so much. I hope tsc moves faster soon...

I am the petitioner.

I know exactly what you mean. FaceTime, while far better than just texting and talking on the phone, still isn't even close to being with them. I too hope that justice prevails and we all get processed soon.

I feel your frustration, my fiance just went back to Canada yesterday, that was his third visit since we filed the I-129F. Visits are even more unbearable now that we actually have the chance to be together, it always feels like I'm having the best dream ever until he's gone. Hopefully that was the last good bye, that depends on TSC...

I know how you feel. We have been doing this for ten years, and believe me it never gets easier. Just had to say goodbye again a few months ago... knowing that eventually when the process is complete you'll be together keeps one hopeful. Soon can seem so far away when a couple lives so far apart. Whenever we have to say goodbye, it always seems to me there's an emptiness and nothing seems right for a long time. I'm sure you'll be together for good soon.

As an American I never minded English weather.. the rainy days and jet lag are more than made up for by the beauty everywhere and the people. I still think he's bewildered by the blinding sun and heat here in the summer, followed by the blizzards in the winter.. :-p..

My wife does enjoy crashing out on her first ft here (she visits a lot more as I have work obligations). Out of interest which part of England do you visit?
