My daughter had her interview today. I checked ceac status and its on administrative processing. No additional requirements was asked. At the 2nd to the last window the person told them that visa will be sent at home. If its admin processing do they still get your passport? I called embassy they told me that it only means the case is still on review. Issued means its already printed. Anyone with same experience?

Speed wise, the system is pretty bad. Mistakes are rare, but they are slower than molasses. My Candy had her interview a full week ago and is still READY.

Just give it more time, and the chance of it working (eventually) is quite high.

Yes. It's a positive sign that the embassy didn't return the passport, and the applicant didn't receive a 221g, asking for more documents. All cases will go through some sort of administrative processing (AP) and basically it only means "further review and checks", as what the hotline operator told you on the phone. The timelines for each case vary, but once you see a ceac status of "issued", your daughter should be able to receive her passport with visa within 5-10 days, depending on your location.

In my case, I received my visa almost 3 weeks after my interview. 4 days from "issued" online status. From what I read so far, family-based visas tend to be faster. :)

Dont worry. It is really not the same for everyone. Others they waited 3 months. For some who are very lucky waited only 3 days. Just keep your hopes up. Everything will be fine. Just more patience. :) As soon as you get a status of Issued, 5-10 working days it will be delivered. ;)

Only 1 day after yours, and they haven't even touched it. Not one update. Not one move to administrative processing. It just sits there and collects dust.

This is unfair.

Just to be clear, I have no problem with the poster who got to ISSUED in 3 days. By all mean she should grab her visa and run. I would do the same, and I am sure everyone else here would too.

I do however have a huge problem with USEM. If they can issue her K-1 visa in 3 days, then they can issue everyone's in 3 days as well. And if they can't then they have no business heaping all of their time resources on ONE applicant while the rest of us are forced to wait

And wonder

When?

Tomorrow?

Next week?

Next month?

When?

I read something about all men are created equal. I guess that must be from some other country's Declaration of Independence.

I understand your frustration. But we can't really do anything about it. So far, upon reading other's statements on a case similar like this (waiting for their visa), we all have different situations. My fiancé and I are just talking right now that maybe they still need more reviews on your paper work. For others maybe everything that they need is already there that's why it was easy to issue their visa right away. Coz there are some, even if they're approved, they were still asked to submit more paper works.

Let's just hope and pray that's not your case. I know it's hard to wait. I was bordering to getting hysterical too. But we can't really do anything about it. Just think positive and I'm pretty sure yours will be delivered in no time. Have faith. :)

Our papers were perfect. Candy was told that directly by the last consular officer, the one who reviewed the papers and made sure they were all in order. This is why I cannot possibly understand why there are any delays whatsoever.

And it is not a matter of taking a "second look". Nobody has taken any look. There has been ZERO activity since the day of her interview. The file just sits there and collects dust. 5 whole business days now and NOTHING.

Thank you for your encouragement and kind words.

Oh yeah, the CO also said the visa would be issued "right away". Well right away already came and left at least 2 times already. So much for their credibility, which is now ZERO in my books.
