Did you finally get a letter from the Embassy? How long did that take. The Embassy said that they "sent" it out on 12 May 2014. Here we are on the 26th/27th of May and still no letter. Yes, the entire situation there is a bit harrowing - all due now to prioritizing Typhoon Yolanda "victims." My wife has gone on line day and night and found No Appointments Available. Do I understand you correctly that there are no appointments until October???

Thanks for your reply.

Assume you will NEVER get that letter. When I finally got lucky and calendars actually popped up there was one day availabe, i looked all the way to october, and there was not one other day available. Then on top of that all I129-F applications once approved, expire in 4 months!!!!!! they say the embassy "Can" extend that. But no one says its a sure thing. The way they expect you to get this medical is ridiculous!!! it does not work with the interview appts. they make available....

Most likely the date that came up for you was because someone has cancel their appt. It wouldn't make sense like you said that it would open up for just 3 days for you to get medical etc. So my take on It is that someone who had a interview appt. cancel it and that became available for you. Hopefully this week some days do open up for July or August as we end this month of May. Good Luck to everyone..

Just my opinion, but I'd jump on that interview appointment. They are non-existent right now. And SLEC says on their website no appointment necessary, so u could do a walk-in. You could then explain to them about the imminent appointment for interview and ask to hand carry your medical to the embassy. I remember reading an old post where someone actually did this. Can't find it right now. Worst that could happen is you get a 221g after interview for missing medical report. Once Embassy gets it in a week or two then you're done and a happy camper. I did find this for you to read:

Just a small bit of information..I just got off the phone with SLEC and ask them if my fiancée can get a medical exam without a interview date because of the short notice of appointments. They said that is not a problem and that she can still get her medical without appt. letter and they will still send the results to embassy. Also I ask what if my fiancée didn't get her letter with her case number on it cause she hasn't receive yet and SLEC said that is not a problem also, just make sure your fiancée has her MNL# and she can right it down. So I hope this helps anyone cause at this point in time the dates are coming in on short notice so I rather be proactive and get my fiancée medical done ....

I heard that too, that even though it says to bring your interview appointment confirmation to SLEC they will let you slide without one.

There was a recent post of someone who did medical on Thursday and got it to embassy by Monday interview appointment. But that is very risky. This person gambled and won but could have easily gambled and lost.

They Manila embassy sent me an email with all the pertinate info when requested. St Lukes reply when I asked if I need the letter:

Normally, appointment letter from the US Embassy or Instruction letter from the NVC with the date of interview is presented to us during the medical examination. However it is your discretion to have the medical examination without the appointment letter, for as long as you know your case number and visa preference category

Question for you, Is it really a matter of pounding the refresh button on the "dashboard" page till an apointment shows????

Don't do that. The system will lock you out. Try maybe once per hour.
