Hi all! I'm Dave and my fiance is Maxine.

We're just getting started on our journey here. I've been reading tons of forum posts already to get a better idea of the process and experience for others, so I have a pretty good idea of what to expect. We'll be filing I-129f very soon (just waiting on g235 and letter of intent to arrive from her) and couldn't be more excited/anxious/nervous.

My fiance is in the Philippines, and I suppose we're slightly unique in that we're a same sex couple, so any advice you can provide on that front would be much appreciated.

Hi Dave! I can't provide you any useful information on that front, but I can recommend you read the 'Guides' section up top, it's full of great and useful info about putting together the K-1 package and what to do afterwards. And welcome to the forum :D

27 Mar '09: Met at work in Holland and started dating.

30 Nov '13: Got engaged in Scotland!

10 Jan '14: Sent I-129F package to Dallas Lockbox.

22 Jan '14: NOA1 received.

29 Jun '14: Congressman Lobiondo inquired at TSC about our case.

16 Jul '14: Senator Menendez inquired at TSC about our case.

21 Jul '14: NOA2 approved!! (180 days)

23 Jul '14: Case sent to NVC.

01 Aug '14: Received NVC case number.

07 Aug '14: Case sent to Dutch consulate.

13 Aug '14: Packet 3 received, completed the DS-160 form.

15 Aug '14: Sent Packet 3 back to the consulate.

21 Aug '14: Packet 4 received with interview date.

29 Apr '15: Filed InfoPass to find out why I still didn't get biometrics appt.

Hi Dave! My name is Kris and my fiance's name is Nika. We're a same sex couple (both female) who filed last January. We got approved last May 19 in our interview at the consul. :) One thing we noticed that is very important, and I was asked too during the interview, is that you have to provide information about which state are you guys getting married and if it is legal. If it is legal, you need to provide proof as to when it was legalized. Like for us, we printed the news and searched for the law where gay marriage is now legalized in the state of california.

May 8-9, 2014 - Medical Exam

May 19, 2014 - Interview at the US Embassy; APPROVED!

May 22, 2014 - Status changed to ISSUED

May 28, 2014 - Visa on hand

August 8, 2014 - Entered U.S.

August 30, 2014 - GOT MARRIED!!!

October 5, 2014 - Filed for Adjustment Of Status

October 20, 2014 - Received Receipt Number via Email

October 27, 2014 - Biometrics Appointment Received

November 13, 2014 - Biometrics

March 24, 2015 - Approved

March 31, 2015 - Green Card Received

@KrisandNika - Thank you for the info. I included that we intend to marry in California (where my mother lives) in the letter of intent. Hopefully that will suffice? If not, I'll have it ready if we get an RFE.

We're the same sex couple as well (both girls).

My fiance is from florida (non-legal state) and i'm from the philippines. We stated in our intent to marry that we will get married in New York but we have not included additional documents regarding same sex marriage in new york.

We passed our application last may 23 and received email/text on may 30.

How about you guys? How's your application? :)

You're from what state? We are waiting for noa1 hardcopy and noa 2. Whew! Long waiting game for us since we are being handled by tsc

We hope so! Even though I know the waiting has just begun...

I live in Texas so, unfortunately, we'll almost certainly be at the TSC.
