Hello everyone,

I have sent all my civil docs to nvc on 18th April, we received an rfe on marriage certificate and we replied again with proper documents on 9th june, waiting for nvc to close my case ASAP. My pd became current in June visa bulletin. I am in India and my husband is in US. In how many days does nvc responds to rfe?

@yannix Thanks for the reply. I expect to hear something by end of this month hopefully.

Once the case is completed, how much time does nvc take generally to schedule appointment with mumbai consulate?

It's depend on your priority date...if it is current then the waiting times will be ~1-2 months

as if it is not current...just like me waiting still, it's been aprrox. 3 months

Anywhere from a few weeks to close to 2 months. It really depends if you miss or make the NVC scheduling cut-off date for your particular embassy.

Ok..I found out that mumbai consulates schedules the interview in first two weeks of every month i.e. Approximately 15th of every month. So if my case gets completed by end of this month I expect interview date from nvc by 15th july?

If IR1/CR1, IR2/CR2, or IR5 is your category = probably.

If F2A, F2B, F1, F3, or F4 is your category = no.

In our case also we received the same email for marriage certificate, and we were wondering what went wrong, because we also submitted original marriage certificate. We tried calling nvc and asked them for more clarity, we just got to hear the certificate is not original and we need original document.

Did they accepted the documents when you resent them? Because we have also done the same, we have sent another original marriage certificate along with a cover letter from our lawyer explaining its original document.

Hope they accept it and our case gets completed in this week.
