EAD request terminated

Hi,

We sent in my request to renew my husband's EAD and have a receipt dated 2/27/14. I haven't heard anything from them yet so I logged into their website and entered the receipt number and it says that on April 15 they terminated the request because we already acquired status or the benefit being sought after through different means, and that they will mail me a letter.

I never got a letter and I am sooo confused right now because the request has been terminated?? What the heck? His card is expired, no, we haven't acquired new status or benefits any other way. What gives? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Your timeline says that you filed for Adjustment of Status in 2012, but you do not log an approval.

Are you still waiting for I-485 approval?

If not, then why are you renewing EAD?

I'm sorry, yes, we have everything approved. His two year card is valid until September 2015. I was applying to have it renewed because the card expired and a friend of mine who did the same visa process said they had to get her ex husband's renewed after a year of issue. If not, I wasn't aware of it, but fantastic! I feel like an idiot now but relieved if the green card is good enough.

The GC replaces and supersedes the EAD. A GC is proof of travel permission and work permission, plus a lot more.

No more need to EAD, so that is why they cancelled your request.
