So everyone thinks that at your Visa Interview if you are approved that's it you're good to go. When in fact that isn't the case. The VO doesn't decide your fate. They can recommend to approve a petition but the power is not in their hands. They pass on the packet onto someone higher up who makes the final decision. When my fiance attended his interview the Interviewer said "I am going to recommend to approve this petition" I also saw another person speak of their approval when the interviewer said "I am going to approve this petition at this time". So I am guessing we don't get the true approval till the Visa is Issued.

The approval is the visa in your passport.

So it's as I thought we are not approved yet; just pre-approved until someone higher up adjudicates it.

That's very true. Many people get approved and then the supervisor reviews and it goes either into AP or gets denied.

If you notice people saying "I was approved at interview now my status says AP". Well that's normal everyone goes into AP its just some stay there longer because maybe the CO didn't do something or the supervisor wants more checked out.

That's why they say until you get Visa in hand you DO NOT make travel arrangements

Well I know when he was there they did not ask for affidavit of support just proof of income. In which he gave them my paystubs, letter from employer etc. Could this mistake from the VO cause denial?

This is actually true.

There's a checklist of things that the back-office krewe go through, after interview day...

Once they are done with that, then another Vice-Consul, sometimes the head of the IV Unit, actually handles the flip to 'issued' status.

For many IV Units - there is a mandatory 'AP' process that takes an additional week to three, and folk seek it on CEAC status and flip out....

In the end, once it's set to 'ISSUED' status, that's still not the end game,

as

the stuff held at the IV Unit, a compilation of things that represent the entire casefile (stuff you sent, stuff the beneficiary sent, reports from FBI namechecks, reports from the Vice Consuls in the IV Unit, reports from NVC) all has to be glommed together

into that mysterious 'Do No Open' packet - which is actually the entire collection o paperwork, from Day 0 till yesterday,

and then it's logged, then shoved over to the mailroom, where a courier picks it up (along with the 1100 handled yesterday) ....

it's sent out as a 'Visa Packet' via a courier to the Visa Beneficiary,

who will find inside of it:

1. a passport with the visa stamp and

2. a collection of paperwork that should be scanned and emailed around then there is

3. something about the medical results (CD with the xray, summation report of the medical exam) then there is

4. that 'do not open' packet...

In essense, distilled, the visa beneficiary becomes a highly paid courier (paid by you or her) for the Department of HomeLand Security,

as the casefile in his/her hands is handed off to CBP at the POE, and winds it's way down to a USCIS office, where the A-File finally gets registered and activated, thus giving some status....

A-File's are important - they are reviewed by an Immigration Officer in the USA during:

1. AOS

2. ROC and

3. USCitizenship application review

so - after interview day - it ain't over till the visa packet is in the beneficiary's hand(s ) ...

Go Get Em, and Good Luck !

Well I know when he was there they did not ask for affidavit of support just proof of income. In which he gave them my paystubs, letter from employer etc. Could this mistake from the VO cause denial?

London IV is one of the few IV units on the planet

that

do not require an I-134 on interview day.

Databases for what?

Oh - there are many.

I won't post a list, as I'm tired and in need of naked time - but

Each step in the process touches at least 2 databases.

TWO.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

So we are okay then? Because he gave them my proof of income but not affidavit of support because they didn't request it. Where does it say I-134 isn't required at London and why not?
