I had my interview already without cc, it was expedited. But I was put under AP, and by the time the consulate was ready to issue visa after AP was over in the last week of June, my pd was not current anymore. So they asked me to wait and call them once it's current again.

ahh ok... maybe u'll have ur visa this sept. if vb favors to us... goodluck to us:)

Just me, I'm the only applicant in my case..Maybe because you are the principal applicant...or maybe because there is something missing just with you, not with your kids..Can I ask to you why they put you in AP?

They have your passport? because in my case they ask to me if I can leave mine to they.

I don't think retrogression can have effect..we have had, so if everything went well we would have visa..I think our visa are considered separately...I hope...

Try to send an e mail to your Consulate, second week of June I ask to the Consulate how much this can take and they told me that, this process take from 1 to 4 months, and they contact me via e mail when this process is completed...

Hi, have you got your visa already? When your PD became current again, how long before they issue the visa?

Anyone else affected by retrogression but PD's already current?

It's so frustrating. Had my interview last May 29. I was put on AP and got affected by retrogression. after 5 months of waiting, my PD (Jan 17,2013) becomes current again. But checking status online, my case was last touched Jun 11. No progress at all. My passport was returned to me due to retrogression. I feel like Im waiting in vain. My medical is valid only until Nov 6. Plus other documents with 6 months validity expires this Oct. I tried to all the embassy but Iine is busy and email is still not replied.. ???

AOS issue. I had to submit additional docs such as W2 and paystub. I also submitted additional AOS/ co-sponsor. The CO told me if I can personally submit the docs the next day (May 30, Friday.... My interview was May 29, Thursday) I'll get my visa and wont be affected by retrogression. But of course, a day is not enough (you know the feeling when all you need is additional day?!) so I was able to provide the docs last June 3, Monday...

Don't trust CO they all bunch of heartless bureaucrats who only trust what the system returns. They are incapable of taking a decision without running AP on every applicants regardless of upcoming retrogression. I had my interview on May 13th but still got caught up by retrogression because the inexperienced CO felt she couldn't make a decision without tunning AP on me even though I was missing not a single document.

I find it terribly despicable that you have to do the follow up with the embassy when you paid hefty fees for I130, IV and AOS. This service is not free not only we are paying for it but even our sponsors are paying their taxes which fund all US government institutions including DoS. They should be doing their job a little bit more seriously, it not like they are doing us a favor!

Got it, so after your interview, your CEAC status was Undergoing necessary AP right. And then on June 1st or 11th your CEAC status was back to Ready, since then. Normally medicals are valid for 6 months and AOS is valid for one year. Police certificates validity depends on country, it could be 3, 6 or 12 months. Therefore, embassy may ask you to redo your medicals or submit any new documents it the previous one expired. I don't think it will be considered as a second interview but just as a providing additional document for them to continue processing your visa.

@ zararoxy

I was in exact same situation as you are now. My interview was also on May 29, put under AP for tech background, then at end of June consulate asked for my passport to issue visa, returned it the next day saying pd not current, visa can't be issued, wait till pd is current and then contact.

But I did not wait till pd was current, when I saw the September VB on August 12, that my pd(August 16, 2012) was about to be current again, I email the consulate immediately, within an hour of publication of VB. They took about 8 days to respond, I guess they had to do a little research to verify my claim. After that they sent me letter to submit my passport for final processing, I did. The passport was with them already by August 29, 2014. When the consulate opened after Labor Day, the first thing they did was update my case and issue visa the next day.

So I suggest, you get on it, email again if no response yet. Remind them you have only less than a month let on the medical. Also let me tell you, since I had my medical at the last week of May and visa was issued in September, my visa validity duration was only for three months instead of the standard six months, because at that point there were three months validity left on my medical report. So the visa is closely tied to how long the validity left on your medical. If they don't issue you visa soon, you need to get medical done again.
