AP after interview - Will June retrogression impact my visa?

I followed the instruction contained in the 221G white slip and emailed to the address provided to get updates abouet my visa case. 2 days later I received a response from the consular team asking me to send my request to another email address!!!.

I took them 2 days to respond to my first request, now by the tile they respond to the second request it'll be June 1st or 2nd and it's already retrogression. Why in the world they didn't forward my request directly to the concerned department???

They tell you to send request to a specific email address and then when you do so they respond by telling you to direct your request to another address??? Insn't this weird??

My wife's pd 25 april 2013, she had interwiev on 20 may, consul said she should have brought updated police records, and I864A form. Consul also said when all docs are ready send email to embassy! The police record will be ready on 3rd June. I don't know what might happen after we'll write email to embassy. We'll see. Of course I'll share the end of this love story))))

I have actually anticipated that too and had a new police certificate and petitioner + Co Sponsor 2013 tax return. But They only took the updated police certificate. So I was all set from documents perspective but I could do nothing about the Administrative processing... :(

Let's keep each other posted!

Today checked my status on CEAC and it changed from AP to Ready as below: Any clue what that may be as I already had my interview ????

Ready

Immigrant Visa Case Number: xxxxxxxxxxx Case Creation Date: 12-Dec-2013 Status Updated Date: 01-Jun-2014

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html

Hhhmmm. Any change in CEAC status is normally a good sign but in your case call the embassy directly. Good luck.

Terminator; did you get Ready for interview same as mine or yours says "Case open" ?

"ceac" says: Administrative Processing

Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days. Under the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act, Immigrant Visas for "Diversity Visas" cannot be issued after September 30th of the year in which you were selected to apply for a Diversity Visa. For example, entrants into the Diversity Visa Program in Fall of 2011 were selected for Diversity Visa 2012 Program, and selectees MUST apply and receive their visa prior to September 30, 2012 otherwise they lose eligibility to receive a Diversity Immigrant Visa, regardless of additional administrative processing. In addition, please note that some immigrant visas may not be able to be issued if the annual numerical limit for that category has been reached.

Good then if your wife's case is still under AP because mine was changed from AP to Ready for interview on June 1st. Today I received the below email from US Embassy:

Dear Sir,

Unfortunately, due to a worldwide retrogression of the F2A cut-Off date, your visa number is no anymore available startin June1, 2014. Even if we get a positive answer for your case, we will not able to issue you a visa until a visa number will be available for your visa class.

We advise to keep look at the visa bulletin at department website.

Regards,

Consular Section

That's it for me, I missed a chance and I have to waid god knows how long before I get a visa issued. Too bad the CO did not approve a visa first and then run his background checking. They had 17 days in May while my PD was current to take a decision and issue a visa after my interview. But that is god's will. There is nothing I can do about it.

Hopefully you won't. May be the CO who interviewed your wife retained her visa while awaiting for the additional dox. As long as her case remains under AP past June 1st, hopefully is a good sign. If it goes to Ready " Case open" it should definitely means a visa to be issued soon.

Good luck mate!
