hi everybody just wondering how does my wife change to her married name on passport thanks in advance

She can't get a US passport until she's a US citizen. What she needs to do is get a new Phillipines passport with her married name, and send a copy of that BIO page with her other IV documents to NVC.

When she gets her visa, (and subsequently her green card, that will be issued in the name on her current (IE Phillipines) passport. So if you want those documents to be in her married name, the first step is to get a new Phillipines passport, in the married name.

You might want to post in the Phillipines Portal to get information about how to do that, because I don't know.

Hi just go to DFA (Department of Foreign Affair) bring MC,BC,CFO plus supporting documents give ALL those things to the DFA officers then after one month she can get her new passport with married name in there, as simple as that. June 2, 2014 is my big day at US Embassy wish me luck guys:) God Bless Us ALL.

11/17/1998- Received first love letter from Bob (my husband now) we wrote love letters back and forth for almost 2years.

09/2/2000- First meeting in person.

09/26/2000- We got married.

01/2/2001- We both left for South Korea working at public school as an English Teacher.

08/20/2005- I came home to pursue my University Degree in Business at University of San Carlos Cebu City Philippines (USC)

10/25/2009- Got my Degree.

10/26/2009- Went back to South Korea working again.

06/12/2012- Bob officially retired.

06/14/2012- Bye bye South Korea, Welcome home Philippines.

06/22/2012- Bob and I officially owns our houses and lot in the Philippines.

08/24/2013- Sent spouse petition to USCIS.

09/26/2013- USPS notify us that our package has been received by the USCIS.

09/13/2013- Received NOA1 hard copy from USCIS.

09/13/2013- Patiently waiting for our NOA2.

12/3/ 2013 -transfered to NVC from USCIS

1/17/2014 - still no news from NVC

3/8/2014- NVC Invoice arrived paid the same day:)

Hi.. I changed my passport to my married name while our case is at NVC.

If renewal, just bring id, marriage cert and old passport (all with photocopies). Schedule first at DFA online. Fees are php950 regular processing (15 working days) or php1200 express processing (7 working days).

When the new passport is obtained, you must e-mail NVC the scanned copy of the new passport's biographic page so that they could update the name in you case files. Once update is done, they'll reply and your wife will use the married name from then onwards.

I must say that not much of a hassle in this one. :)

My wife did her name change in the states. She first sent 'report of marriage' and the bio information with pictures. Then she waited until there was a mobile counslar event near our home and she applied there. After the process there was about a six week wait.
