My wife I (so proud to say that now!) Are filing for the AOS and we have some questions.

On form 1-864 Part 3 -- Information on the immigrant you are sponsoring question #1 where it states "I am sponsoring the immigrant names in part 2" -- We are using a joint sponsor since when I was working I didnt make enough to support the both of us and now that I am NOT working and currently looking for a job the joint sponsor is the main person. So, do I check Yes FOR SUPPORTING my wife or NO? If I check no, in parenthesis it says (Applicable only in cases with two joint sponsors) but we ONLY have ONE JOINT SPONSOR so now we are confused and don't know weather to put YES or NO. Please help.

Also, on part 3 (continued) #7 where you put how many immigrants you are sponsoring-- do I put in ZERO since I am technically not completely sponsoring her or ONE because I am the petitioner and will contribute with sponsoring her with my low income but the majority of the sponsoring will go to our joint sponsor. So, ZERO OR ONE?

Another question is that our joint sponsor recently retired, does that affect anything or hurt our case? And should we show evidence that he did indeed retire?

last question-- part 5 sponsor household size question #3 do I put 1 because we recently got married or do I put 0 like the sample form does? It says put 1 if recently married. So why is the sample have 0?

okay I lied one more question. lol
part 6 question #5 - What would be my individual income since I have no job as of right now?

would my annual income woul be what was on my 2013 W2? The biggest number on my w2 is what my income ? and thats the same number I put on question #10 of part 6?

thank you for reading, I just want to do this correctly.

If I check no, in parenthesis it says (Applicable only in cases with two joint sponsors) but we ONLY have ONE JOINT SPONSOR so now we are confused and don't know weather to put YES or NO. Please help. <-- The NO is not applicable to you or your joint sponsor. You both will check YES.

<- You will have one there, since you are the USC petitioner/sponsor of the intending immigrant, your spouse. Your joint sponsor will also have one there, because they are filling out the I-864 stating they are willing to sponsor your foreign spouse. Don't fill them out thinking they will be combined, because they won't. Think of them as the two separate, individual forms they are,

Another question is that our joint sponsor recently retired, does that affect anything or hurt our case? And should we show evidence that he did indeed retire? <- Part 6 #3. Just make sure their current annual income is enough for their own household size plus your foreign spouse and that you provide evidence of the income.

last question-- part 5 sponsor household size question #3 do I put 1 because we recently got married or do I put 0 like the sample form does? It says put 1 if recently married. So why is the sample have 0? <- As it says, Do not count anyone twice. Also, #3 comes after this, "Persons NOT sponsored in this affidavit:" Your spouse is the intending immigrant and counted in #1. You do not count them again as someone not being sponsored in #3. If you have no other dependents, then your total household size will come out to 2 for #8. If your joint sponsor is married, then they would have a 1 for #1 and in #3 because their spouse is not the immigrant being sponsored.

okay I lied one more question. lol

If you are currently unemployed then you check that in Part 6 #4. If you have no current income, then you put 0. What you made in the past is not your current income. You list your Total Income amounts(or AGI if you used the 1040EZ form when you filed) from your last 3 years of taxes where it asks in Part 6 #13a-c.

thank you for reading, I just want to do this correctly.
