Hey all,

I am still waiting on a RFE as my husband left out his g-325a. We sent out our application to California at the beginning of Nov and have only had 1 NOA since. I am currently in the US right now but my VWP expires early Feb. So we are hoping to receive an RFE before I leave. Is anyone else concerned about CSC's lack of notification?

Also, has anyone had experience with military space A travel? My husband and I think this may be an option of leaving the US and returning again. I have spent 9 out of the past 12 months here in the US. Each time I have entered is a little more difficult than the last. So we are worried the next time I try they will send me home.

11-05-06 Sent I-130 to California

06-01-07 INTERVIEW

06-04-07 Received VISA in the mail. Silly Consulate issued me CR-1 instead of IR-1, no time to change it in Australia, will try to change it once in California.

06-10-07 POE SFO

06-21-07 Receive SSN#

07-12-07 Receive Green Card in the mail STILL HAD CR1 INSTEAD OF IR1

12-10-07 Finally sent I-90 asking for a new green card with correct info.

06-17-08 INFOPASS - Was told USCIS sent new green card to old address back in Jan. Will resend it but may not be able to correct error as it was made by Consulate not USCIS.

What to do now??

I can try to help you with military space A travel. I will need more information though. Who in the marriage is the American military service member. Also, has the spouse been classified with the government as a dependent? Please note that usually in order for any foreign national to have military benefits he or she must be a green card holder. I don't know what your circumstance is from the little information in the email.

Concerning your RFE I received one, and it took about a week and a half once I was notified through the email. It's not very clear to me from your post as to whether you received notification from the USCIS yet or if you know a RFE is coming because you realized your husband's G-325a was not included in the papers you returned. As for USCIS lack of notification, for me it has been up and down, sometimes they respond quickly and sometimes it is the waiting game.

I hope this helps (F)

Mu husband is the service member (O-2). I do not have a green card but I do have a dependents card which entitles me to all the military benefits.

It took less than 10mins to be given a dependants card and the enlisted girl even gave me a dummy SSN (maybe this is wrong, we haven't had any problems yet) that was needed on the card. Also we are at a base where the guard at the gates scan the cards now. I have never been stopped with my card.

I am sure I am allowed space A travel but I'm concerned that the DoD person checking passports will forget to remove the little green piece of paper or issue me a new one when I return. From my experience some of the DoD personnel and Border Patrol are not that smart or well trained. I don't know how they can deny me entry into the US after getting off a military plane where would I go?!

Hollywood,

Wow, that is the first time I have heard of the issuance of a dummy SSN by base personnel. Since they gave you an ID card with no problem then it is like you say you can travel, but you are right, in that you are taking a chance. Perhaps your husband being an active duty member might be an advantage for you but you are still taking a chance.

If they deny you entry where will you go??? Not out of the airport for sure and more then likely you will be back on the next flight heading back to your departure point. You both have a difficult decision to make. If I remember correctly didn't you say each time you travel it gets more difficult? I know that intuition is not considered scientific and therefore not reliable but I am a big believer in intuition. I believe that if a person feels uneasy about a situation it is a sign to take notice of it and go with your gut instinct. That's my opinion only and of course you have to do what is right for you. I hope all the best for you whatever decision you take (F)
