My fiancee received the letter from NVC last May 16,2014 that they already sent the approved petition to the us embassy Manila containing our case number the MNL..Can I book for appointment or shall I wait for the confirmation letter from the embassy

You can schedule your interview appointment online as soon as you have your MNL case number and you pay the visa fee. Do not wait for the letter as it may never arrive.

I waited for a long time for my appointment letter from the US Embassy here in Manila but you can book an appointment ahead of time. Check here to see the packet from the embassy and its checklist before your fiancée's interview.

For sure don't wait for any letter from the embassy to get things started.

As long as you have your MNL # it is ROCK 'n' ROLL time!!

(BTW once you pay the fee at BPI and try to schedule online don't be too surprised if there are no interview openings... right now everyone is waiting for the embassy to release July dates)

Yes. I brought my interview appointment email print out for my medical. they asked me where I got my MNL number and I just said NVC provided it to me when I called them.

You can get the medical done without the appointment confirmation letter/email. Did you get a letter from NVC with your MNL#? If not zing NVC an email requesting your MNL # and use that for SLEC. (info for emailing NVC in my link below)

Remember, you visa validity date will be tied to the date of the medical.

I went to my medical exam without my appointment letter since I did mine ahead of time. They will just tell you that you need to book an appointment after your medical since your visa will be valid for 6 months from the date of your medical.

Take a jacket with you and a lot of patience - It's gonna be a long day during the medical
