Affidavit Of Support I-864EZ ? - I have a question about this. I am retired and easily meet the 125% poverty level requirement for support. I intend to use only my social security and my pension to support this. The I-864 EZ requirements say that I need W2's but the year end statements I get are 1099-R for the pension and SSA-1099-SM for social security. It seems like those should suffice but I don't want to make any mistakes at this point.

I also have printed the Social Security Letter that is available online and shows my income from them as backup. I also have an income verification letter from my pension plan. I think sending those is a good idea. I also ordered my tax transcripts but it doesn't seem like I should send those but I have no idea how picky they are. What should I do?

06/28/2013 - NOA 1

12/30/2013 - Transferred to TSC

04/10/2013 - NOA 2 via email - approved!

If you have IRS trasncripts for 2013, 2012 and 2011 it is all you need to show proof of income. W2s are needed when you don't have an IRS transcript and you need to send your full tax return.

September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)

October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

You do not qualify to use the I-864EZ unless you meet the requirements. You do not since you do not get W2s. You should submit an I-864.

No, you cannot use the EZ version, but if you skip the assets section of the I-864, it's just about as simple.

Yes, send at least one tax return transcript, as required, along with income declarations from SSA and pension, as applicable.

If you submit your Tax transcripts, you do not need to submit your Tax Return. Otherwise, you need to submit Tax Return + all 1099s (you do not have W2s).

NVC prefers Tax Transcripts. Use I-864 not I-864-EZ.

Pushbrk - Not entirely true. I have read some of the instructions but you are correct that I have not studied them in their entirety because i fell asleep. But I get your point. I guess I won't ask for more help. Thanks for the subtle hint. :)
