MissingMissing Documents?

I received an RFe today that I guess has me totally and completely confused.

I will place it here so that you can read it yourself, and please reply and tell me what you think.

We are returning your incomplete form. Please pay special attention to the instructions stated below with an asterisk and to the questions circled in red pencil on the attached Part I/DS-230 Part I. Your Visa can not be completed and processed until this form is complete.

* Please note that this form must be completed and signed.

* A gap exists in your residence history of more than six months. When completing the information ,please refer to the instructions below on how to obtain Police Certificates(s) from these countries.

Police Certificates are required for each Visa Applicant aged 16 years or older, based on where each applicant lives, and has lived previously. Police Certificates are also required from all other countries where the applicant has resided for more than 12 months. Present and former residents of the Unites States should NOT obtain any police certificates covering their residence in the U.S.

Generally, applications for police certificates should be made directly to the police authorities in the district in which you resided. The Police Cetificates Must:

> Cover the entire period of the applicant's residence in that area, and

> State what the appropriate police authorities records show concerning each applicant,

including all arrests, the reason for the arrests, and and the disposition of each case for

which there is a record.

If you have any questions about where or how to apply for certificates in other countries, you may communicate directly witht the U.S. Consular Office processing your your visa application(s).

(Note) Police certificates from certain countries are unavailable. More specific information is available from the NVC or nearest U.S. Immigrant Visa Processing Post.

That is the entire letter. Circled on our DS-230 form in red pencil was just where she forgot to put the final date of residence. She put from four years ago to: and this is where she forgot to put now...or as they ask , you need to put mm/yyyy which is an easy fix.

So alright, I am having her print a new one and Fed Ex it . We sent the NBI Clearance as stated in the forms letter. I have never heard from anyone else saying the POLICE CERTIFICTES were needed as only the NBI Clearance is required in the Philippines. I had even posted that question, and was told no.

So now my question until I can call them in a few days is: Is the Police Certificate required then in the Phils as well as the NBI Clearance if she has never left the Phil's.

Some One Please Help Me Soon...PLease

It sounds like by what the letter above says, that they want her to send Police Certifictes as well from the places she had lived in the Phils. She has lived in 3 Cities including present. :help::help:

hank You and I hope to hear a reply soon

Hi,

Yes you need to have the police clearance as well as the NBI clearance. We only submited the police clearance from he present address/city. As far a the dates of residence you mentioned...just put the from date to "present".

MissingMissing Documents?

You said you only sent clearance from present city. But you said did not send POLICE CLEARANCE.

Do you mean Police Certificate? This is the exact term on the RFE. So she will have to fly back and collect Police Cetificetes from all the cities in which she has lived? It does not state that. I read or think I read in the forum that stated that these are only needed if they had lived in a different country.

I guess I want to be sure.

So Police Certificates are needed ..?

Can you reverify that...thanks and sorry.

I sent a PM to you in answer to your PM to me. The Police Clearance is the Police Certificate. Like my friend Jazzy, we also sent an original Police Clearance certificate with the DS230 and had no problems. The rules seem to suggest that it's not needed if you've never lived outside the Phils, but....we just wanted to be sure. Of course we sent the NBI, too. If your spouse forget to include the "to" date in the list of places lived on the DS230, that is likely the problem. Since you left it open ended, they can't know for sure where she is now. That might be the problem. I filled up the blanks on the online form completely and had my spouse sign it. I filled in as "from" her month/year of birth and "to" the month/year when I mailed the DS230, since she had only one address her entire life. We had no problems at all.
