Never lived in another country for 6 months or more since turning 16? No. Just NBI.

It has nothing to do with your age and everything to doi iwth the fact that you never lived in another country for more than 6 months.

Im 18 years old. Do i need to bring a police clearance aside from nbi? I didnt go to another county yet.

No police clearance is required if you have never lived in a foreign country. Follow the embassy instructions letter for all requirements.

d. NBI CLEARANCE (Green Form). Applicants aged 16 years and older must have a valid Record
Clearance (for travel abroad purposes) from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Clearances should
be in the applicant’s current name, birth certificate name, maiden name and any aliases or nicknames used,
including different spellings you have used of those names. An official letter of explanation from the
NBI is required for any notation of “No criminal record” or "No pending case”. For immigration
purposes, an NBI clearance is valid for one (1) year from the date it was issued. The NBI website is
e. OTHER COUNTRY POLICE CERTIFICATES. Applicants aged 16 years and older must also present
police certificates from other countries where they have lived for six (6) months or more after reaching the
age of 16. As with NBI clearances, foreign police certificates should be obtained in any maiden names,
aliases or nicknames used while in the country in question, including different spellings you have used of
those names. Country-specific information on how to secure police certificates is available on the State
Department’s website at

Age is a factor. If the person was under 16 years of age when living in a foreign country NO police certificate is required.

Thank you Hank. I should have been clearer, but what i meant to tell the OP Is that her age of 18 does not create any sort of youth exception. She would have to be under 16 to qualify on that.

I understood what you were trying to say, but with newbies always looking for answers I wanted to clarify to reduce their confusion.

You will also need a CENOMAR.

A CENOMAR? Seriously? But I just turned 18 last march.

Legally you are now allowed to get married. As a derivative child or principal applicant child, you need to show proof that you have maintained your "singleness"/"unmarried" status, hence the CENOMAR.

Better to be safe than sorry. :D

That is NOT correct, K2 does not need to produce a CENOMAR even at 18.

No you do not need a CENOMAR with the K2, they will have you sign a form at the embassy stating you are single but that is all that is needed.

I've encountered some incidents that's why I'm advising a CENOMAR. Wouldn't hurt to be prepared in this insane of a process.

My niece who was an F2B derivative child was asked for a CENOMAR during the interview. She turned 18 prior to their interview. And also one in our FB group member who was a principal applicant child for F2A who turned 19.

I checked with a K-1 with a 20 year old daughter that was K2 that completed this process, no CENOMAR. It may be different with the F type visa. But I do agree with you... won't hurt.
