Is this NOA1?

Hi everyone,

I hope I don't sound too stupid asking this, but I looked online at my case status and of course it says pending, no surprise there. Thing is, that I haven't received anything in the mail for NOA1 and it will be 3 weeks since I sent my app out. Does this online message (see below) mean that NOA1 has been sent out? Also, if I'm going to get a RFE, will it state so online? Thanks for helping me out.

The NOA1 is the actual notice I-797( i think it is) you'll get from the USCIS. Did you get your case number from the back of your cancelled check?

Your online case status is indicating NOA1 (Receipt of petition) as indicated by the statement: "On December 29, 2006, we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)" The part where they state "and mailed you a notice" is talking about the actual Notice of Action form.

You got your case number off your canceled check?

That notice just means your case is in the system with an NOA1 of 12/29/06. The notice (I-1797, NOA1) should get to your house soon. (Unless it doesn't, like mine did.)

Yes, I received my number from the back of my check, and that is how I found my case online. I have not received anything in the mail yet, hence why I was concerned - if they supposedly received it at the end of December, and it's now mid-January, I figured I would get the first notice by now. I didn't think that mail was THAT slow. That's why I was wondering if the online case status is basically just as good as an NOA1 in this situation. And if so, will it inform me online if they need anything else from me, because I feel stuck that I just haven't received anything to date. I'll have to keep checkin my mailbox every day. If anyone has any other feedback on this, lemme know. As always thank you for your help and your time.

My NOA1 was 9/20. I never actually received the notice. About two weeks in I called VSC to ensure they had my address right and to ask for another copy. The very nice officer told me that she didn't have the authorization to print another receipt, but she wrote a letter that took its place.

Both the letter and the NOA2 arrived in my mailbox on the 18th of October. I was only touched once during the process, and it updated online just fine.

Remember the holidays are in there, plus weekends, plus I *think* (not sure) I read that they print the notices in batches, so the date on the NOA1 might not be the date it left the center. In any case, I don't think you have anything to worry about. The check cashed, you have the number. If you haven't got anything by Thursday, give them a call.
