Please advise if I can keep my residency at US, if got relocated overseas by a US construction company. Considering that I'll pay taxes and I'm a green card holder.

Where can I read about this subject?

Is it possible to be done ? If yes can I get neutralized after 5 years ? Or is it considered as residence discontiuety.

Your feedback will be highly appreciated.

I do remember reading this is possible. I would start with an Immigration Lawyer handling your assignment, may not be unusual for a company regularly sending employees overseas.

No , you wont be neutralized/naturalized without 5 str8

years living in the US (whichever is best for U) you can come

into the US (costly) I'd say every 5 .5 mths, spend 2 and go

back to wherever company is locate or apply for a re-entry

permit B4 leaving which allows U to stay out 2 yrs

You relocation will not affect your greencard provided you do not stay out of the country for more than 12 consecutive months without a re-entry permit. Make sure you keep your US address, keep receiving your salary here in the US and keep filing your US taxes as well. The absence however will count for naturalization purposes.

If your contract will be in another country and you will get paid outside the US and you will stay longer than 12 months, get a re-entry permit. You can keep your LPR status provided your absence does not exceed 2 years.

Good luck!

There is a form to apply to preserve residency for work abroad for naturalization purposes, but it might be restricted to government work or other things.

I agree that you shouldn't try to apply for it alone, if it turns out it is applicable to your situation.

Edit: It says it does not preserve the physical presence requirement, so you would also need a reentry permit.
