Do i have to make an appointment for my dads cfo??

Depends on your dad's age.

The following emigrants are exempted from attending the PDOS and registering in person with the CFO, provided that they are registered by a proxy:

As for the question of the OP, ours took 2 weeks 6 days exactly. But the times are all over the place. Some of the factors we can see and even control, but most we cannot. If you opt to pick your visa up at 2Go instead of delivering to your home you get faster service, especially if your home is in remote province.

But most factors determining speed defy rhyme or reason. Over the last month or so I have seen 2 days, 3 months and everything in between. Most are 2 to 3 weeks, but will yours be? Since most factors determining time seem to defy reason, I really can't tell you. Nor is CEAC a reliable indicator. Ours stayed at READY for over a week, then jumped from READY to AP to ISSUED in a day. Some do that, and some don't.

The best thing you can do is check CEAC once a day. 4 PM Manila time is the best choice for time to check it since most changes seem to happen 2 to 3 PM

Once CEAC shows ISSUED, give it a day then look at 2Go website. If they have no record of your file, that just means 2Go did not log it into their system yet. Check the next day and it should be there. You can also look at ustrtaveldocs, the website where you got your interview date in the first place. For us, one day after ISSUED, ustraveldocs said NO RECORD. Not a problem. Just means it is moving to the last stop before it goes into 2Go. Check the next day and they should have record of it.

BTW today I collect my bride at JFK Airport. Flight lands in about 4 hours.

The rhyme or reason has two parts 1) very obvious - Yolanda has overloaded the system at USEM, those expedites get priority and rightly so. (have no time for those that whine about this) 2) Each application is different, once the file is being reviewed if any "problems" are noticed they have to be investigated, which is why some cases go to AP then sit, then back to READY and maybe back to AP before READY again .... and finally ISSUED. The case file does not automatically get a big APPROVED stamped on it after the interview ... and that is why NO ONE case answer the question "How long before I get my visa after the interview?" .

@AI422 - 4 hours huh!!! 2082.gif That is very exciting!!! You have to be dancing right now!! 1942.gif1941.gif1969.gif1951.gif

The jet lag is a monster so that will throw things off for a few days. 2068.gif

Yeah thanks guys. Sorry I was such a pain in the butt for a while.

I know that the State Dept has reasons for doing what they do, but they don't share any of it with us, so we will never know what motivates them. We can guess, for example if you are an FBI agent working on a counter terrorism task force and your fiance's visa gets delayed, you can have a pretty good idea of what is holding it up. But most of the time you will never know.

And yes I have a pretty good idea of what jet lag feels like. Been there, done that, as we all have. But the farthest Candy ever flew from Phil has been Cyprus, so the Western Hemisphere will be a new adventure for her, along with 12 hours of jet lag added to 20 hours of flying. The bed is waiting for her at home whenever she pleases.

Now if you will all excuse me, I have a trip to JFK Airport to make and a bride to collect.
