nah - usually the changes at the website are done by interns who not know anything about the process,

and Guangzhou IV steps/processes have been traditionally and historically overlooked and wrong for Electronic Processing. Yup, that's 3 years of misinformation, so far......

Still, that GZO # and the process for it ain't going away, the content presented on this latest update is off, a bit, for Guangzhou IV and EP casefiles headed there.

I was flummoxed that you wanted to push enrolling in electronic notifications, and thought it pertinent, as

that ain't EP for Guangzhou, at all, this electronic notification has been in place almost 4 years now (to the best of my knowledge) and was available to all countries, everyone. It ain't EP.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Okay fine never mind on the nvcinquiry stuff - however -

This post seemed to indicate that EP IS available to all - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/497535-fyi-regarding-enroll/?p=7027869 (until I noticed that Group A and Group B only applied to the particular embassies where EP is actually available)

Group A: Email processing

Scan and email your forms and documents to nvcelectronic@state.gov. When you send us an email, please follow these guidelines.

If that's not the case, then Ryan is correct - the directions for how to enroll in China's Electronic processing ARE missing - but rather than something sinister, it's a simple but egregious oversight.

UNLESS - what it DOES seem to say is that you can CHOOSE to simply send your documents in electronically - which in the case of China, should net you a GZO #, no?

That is, until, and UNLESS they stop issuing GZO #'s and allow GUZ applicants to follow the EP - which Group B seems to say that GUZ applicants can CHOOSE either way.

That's it - I'm done thinking for today.

At this point, I'm willing to conclude that the blanket scrubbing of the ENROLL instructions was done without regard to how EP works for China cases.

To those who will face the NVC and wish to do EP, send the ENROLL email once you have that GUZ number to nvcelectronic@state.gov. If you haven't received confirmation of acceptance and the GZO number that goes with it within a reasonable amount of time, call the NVC and inquire.

DO NOT listen to other EP filers going through Canada, Jordan, or other countries where EP is available telling you to go ahead and send documents prior to obtaining a GZO number. China is the only country where a case number changes when a file is converted from paper to electronic.

That's sound advice for those who don't want to skip a step or find themselves on the wrong track.

But any lawyer or anyone who's NOT a member of VJ or CFL WON'T SEE the advice to 'ENROLL' in Electronic Processing - nor will they see a need to wait for a 'GZO' number. If they simply follow the directions for submitting documents electronically, will the NVC have the wherewithal to go ahead and treat it as an 'EP' case?

It's not clear that that conversion actually accomplishes anything other than delay action on the case until the 'GZO' number is issued.

I'm going to follow up the above post with the below post focusing on the part in bold and blue:

I sent in enroll email too...but the next day they changed the website, enrollment was gone.. and I saw this "If you send an email to nvcelectronic@state.gov that does not include scanned forms or documents, we will not respond to it."

I called in and the operator says no more enrollment request email.

But has anyone received a confirmation once submitted document through Email? I have no clue if they rec'd my docs or not. IV invoice fee has not yet been invoiced. It's been 10 days since I paid AOS fees.

So if you were to send an ENROLL email to nvcelectronic@state.gov without any scanned forms, chances are that you will not get any kind of response.

So the question is now, is a GZO still necessary for China cases and if so, how to go about getting it? The only way to find this out may be from calling the NVC.

The weird thing is before they changed the website, under group B on http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit/how-to-submit-documents-to-the-nvc.html, it used to be GUZ and GZO. After they changed the website, it only has GUZ. So I'm confused if they still change China cases' # from GUZ to GZO. But I will call operator again tonight to confirm, hopefully they can give me some clear info. Sent in AOS 5/20, nothing happened yet! dammit!

Group A includes GZO - your documents MUST be submitted electronically if you already have this prefix.

Group B includes GUZ - you may CHOOSE to submit documents electronically.

It sounds to me like they are simply doing away with the GZO prefix - an unnecessary step that will hopefully streamline the process a little bit. With greater awareness of the electronic process, there is no need to maintain two separate file systems in that way.

Just keep your eyes and ears open as to what DOES happen - yes - confirmation of the change would be GREAT.

IMO - GZO was a necessary step for Guangzhou -

as it became immediately apparent to all workers there [prc and usa citizens]

that this was an EP casefile so the procedures for it are totally different -

the biggest one being ---

NOT to chase down the casefile and try to schedule it after it comes out of the Bonded China Customs warehouse.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Just called NVC and questioned about the EP!

Their EP program had been changed since May 20, 2014(NVC hasn't update the new instruction to the change), you do not need to send the enrollment mail to NVC for the case number begin with MTL or GUZ. Sending the AOS/IV packet to NVC will automatic enroll in the EP program!

For the people that are waiting for the EP confirmation(specially for the GUZ cases), they do not send out confirmation mail anymore, and no more GZO case number assign! Send the docs to them right away once the fee is paid!

All right, I am tired and confusing with the "NEW" EP system!!

After confirmed from NVC yesterday, that no more GZO number is needed for the China EP!!

I spent a night for setting up the AOS/IV packet, then sent them to NVC in the morning thru email.

And during the day, I got a EP confirmation email from NVC, with the GZO number!! :wow: Hilarious!!!

Then I found that my GUZ number is invalid and have to logon CEAC with the new GZO number.

So, I think I have to do all the docs with the GZO number and send them over again!!

:crying:

Are you talking with supervisors there? I ask - because the first animal that answers the phone usually is incorrect about EP casefiles.

Darnell, I did talk with the supervisor in the first phone call in June 3rd.

And questioned about the change of EP, so there is no doubt about it.

I know what you mean by "animal", and thats why I requested to talks with the T2 Rep.

I called last night again regarding my case, a nice guy explain clearly in detail how they are going handle my case.

However, I am going call them on next Monday just ensure they have all docs(4 email, 4MB each).

Keep On Keeping On ! I dislike the flux on this - but it is what it is...

IMO - when you call in and get the next supervisor [say next week after sending in the AOS and IV stuff] -- ask:

did you get to my email , detach the files, and add them to the casefile yet? any idea of email queue? any idea of reviewing the documents ?

and stick to those questions until finally all occurs:

1. files are detached

2. files are added to the casefile

3. casefile reviewed by human

4. case complete

IMO - it's worth 1 or 2 phone calls each week, talking with a supervisor, after you've sent in the emails for AOS and IV...

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
