We have planned for our child to come to the US for the summer, as she's been doing for the past 8 years on a 10 year B1/B2 visa.
However, yesterday her I-130 was approved and I wonder if we should cancel the summer plans and have her wait until the process is complete and she can enter on her IR2/CR2 'for good'.
I don't believe the NVC will move at lightning speed or anything, I'm more worried about a minor worrying over going through immigration with a big red flag of immigration intent even though we certainly intend to go by the book and not mess up her case at this late hour. If we go ahead with the summer plans, she WILL go back and finish off the IR2/CR2.

Any insights are appreciated, thanks.

Your children can come visit while their IR visas are being processed. There is no harm in acknowledging it should the CBP officer ask. All they need do is tell the truth and they should be OK. Even though they may be flagged as having a IR visa in process it will not prevent them from being admitted nor should it arise any suspicion.

Good luck.
