1) you're an F2A so that isn't applicable on this section of the board because you have a priority date

2) the NVC will let you know what your interview date is.

Hi im a new member here and hope you guys can answer all my queries regarding my petition. My husband filed my petition last dec 2013. NVC emailed me that case was completed last april 25 2014. How long will i wait for my interview? Pls help.

There is no way to say. Could be months could be years you are a F2A. And in a month the F1A Visa Bulletin gets retrograded. So the wait will begin. Getting through NVC is 30 to 60 days with no issues or mistakes.

@ dwheels, you mean if i have F2a then its hard to say when they will send me a notice for interview? Its so bad to be apart together with my hubby. Yes he was a greencard holder when he filed my petition. He was about to have his citizenship this january but his lawyer ask to stay still with his greencard as it may create a problem with our case. We are so glad that when we got the MNL2013... Case in NVC it went well and fast and just completed last month. Now we are excited for my interview. Yet so upset when you told me that i might wait for even years. Plss help..so upset!! Could therw be anything we can do get our visa that will not wait too long??? We.'ve been waiting. We waitedfor 3 years already since my priority is dec 2011.

Many on the interview list F2A are still waiting and as I said June is like the deadline and you are running out of time. Why a lawyer would be that stupid and tell you to wait. If your husband is citizen you are no longer in the queue waiting for a number.

Why would becoming a citizen create a problem. That's crazy. Maybe you will hear soon June isn't here yet and maybe they will start scheduling F2A's there's always hope.

Hi, don't worry as your pd is more than 2 years earlier than the current visa bulletin for f2a which is Sep 8 2013. There are rumours that it will retrogress on July (or probably on June). But even if it retrogressed by a year, you are safe unless it retrogressed by more than two years which is unlikely. However, since you've just completed your case on Apr 25th, you might not be able to make the cut for a June schedule. If you were cc'd before Apr 20, you'll get a schedule for June on this month's second round of interview scheduling.

At this point, the F2A path is still your best option as upgrading to IR1/CR1 will actually delay your case even more. I'm just wondering what took you so long to case completion. You should have been done many months ago.

So anyway just sit back and relax. You are almost there. You WILL hear something next month for a July interview but if you're lucky they might squeeze you in for June. Good luck on your journey. Hope this helps.

If there's a derivative child included in the F2A petition, an upgrade will cause delays because once you become IR1/CR1 the child will no longer be allowed to immigrate with you on the same category. A separate i130 must be filed for the child meaning back to square one for the child.

Now if you are the sole beneficiary of the F2A petition, an upgrade will be best IF a retrogression happened BUT since your PD is 2011-ish, you're safe from retro and will probably get an interview letter end of May or first week of June. Your interview will be in July 2014.

Great explanation. That retro stuff is confusing. :goofy:

my wife send Aos 3 days ago. I guess the will take around 30 business days to review it. After that what will NVC do???? My wife is a PR and i m a Nepali Citizen. My pd is May 16, 2013. Does NVC takes her interview before case comes to my Country Nepal?

I have no idea how F2A works. I do not think your wife will have an interview before you. I also think that after you pay the IV (immigrant visa) bill you will have to send your IV documents to the NVC. They will review those and when done will complete your case. If your priority date is current you will get an interview, if it is not, you have to wait for your priority date to be current.
