ON the I-485 form pg 2,part A it asks for a "non-immigrant #" which I assume we do not have one as my wife and son entered on immigrant visas (K3 /K4) and as such are immigrants, not non-immigrants.Is this correct? leave blank or say n/a?thanks

if it is a non-immigrant visa, what is the number? the "control" number in the upper right hand corner of the visa pasted in their passport? the "wac #" from the Uscis case #??

on your I-129F (i assume that you applied this way for your wife as a K3 - on the NOA2 it should have an A# right above your wife's name. THis is the non-immigrant # (also known as the A#)

Actually, K-1, K-2, K-3, and K-4 are considered non-immigrant visas - silly, I know, since the intent is definitely there to immigrate. They are designed to allow entry to the country for a temporary period of time only and depend upon the AOS - the Adjustment of Status application - to change status from temporary non-immigrant to permanent immigrant status. The A number is the one you want - it stands for Alien number.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
