I recently applied for my military service records, including discharge papers and medical records. Anyway, to cut a long story short I received a letter and an attachment of my Army service certificate but no discharge papers, however according to the letter that accompanied it, everything included should be sufficient for immigration and visa applications. Would I be correct in thinking I should send another request for discharge papers?

Is there some kind of indication that you are no longer active in the military? Probably all they need to know.

It shows the dates of joining and leaving as well as the reason of discharge on the sheet. Wasn't sure if that was sufficient enough. Thanks for the reply, much appreciated.

Embassy website--

Military Records: Persons who have served in the military forces of any country must obtain one copy of their military record. Note: On the day of the visa interview you will be required to furnish either your discharge papers or evidence of terminal leave from the forces.
