MMR booster

Reading around, it looks like the MMR vaccination consists of an initial shot followed by a secondary booster shot a month later. How does that work for the CR1 medical in London? Do they require both shots to be administered before the interview or can the applicant get the second shot at a later date (and does anyone care/check)?

Cr1 deadline is interview since there is nothing else (like K1 adjustment of status) before the greencard is basically approved. It's really the medical exam that is your cut-off date because they fill out the form and send it to the embassy.

So some scenarios at medical if it was today:

1) You went in with proof of 2 MMRs- they put the dates and tick the "complete" column for MMR

2) You went with proof of MMR1 in 1995- they will say you are due MMR2 and charge you > they put the dates and tick the "complete" column for MMR

3) You went with proof of MMR1 given last week- you can not get MMR2 until 4 weeks has passed > they put the date of MMR1 and tick the "insufficient time interval" column for MMR. That gives you a medical waiver. They send your form to the embassy. You never get MMR2 for immigration purposes.

What about scenario 4 where you turn up at the medical having never had an MMR shot ever? Do they give you MMR1 and waive MMR2?

It's difficult to read through all the medical mumbo jumbo but it doesn't seem as if MMR2 is all that important anyway. I think it's something they did because MMR only works 94% of the time and they figure 2 shots gets them to 99%.

Have you been for your medical?

If not go to your GP and get the MMR shots started even if you do not have enough time for the second one.

They give you MMR1 and tick 'insufficient time interval' and write '4 weeks' next to the tick (thats what is on mine) I never bothered to get the second one and just sent in the copy of the form as given to me for AOS.

Yes to scenario 4 as others have said. But you GP will likely give it free, whereas Knightsbridge will charge £40. Get it wherever cheapest...your doctor, Boots, Tesco...

Just plan your MMR for the week before your medical (less than 28 days works).
