B1/B2 tourist visa for British Citizen

Hi,

I know a British citizen can travel USA up to 90 days under VWP.

My wife would like to stay for more then 90 days to see her family members in different states. My question can she apply for B1/B2 tourist visa at London Consulate! Or its not allowed for British citizen!

Kindly Advice.

She can apply, but any denial may negatively impact her ability to use the VWP in the future, as she must declare a visa denial on her ESTA application.

As I understand it, the London embassy has cracked down on B-2s somewhat, and they will likely require substantial proof and documentary evidence regarding why 90 days under the VWP would be insufficient for a British citizen's legitimate tourist needs.

Above answer is correct. Basically, the embassy will want to know how your wife can not work for so long, and why she'd want to be away from you for so long. It would be much easier to just go for, say 88 days, come home for a while, and then go back.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
