Hi, beautiful men and women here, I'm going for my N400 biometrics on May 23,2014 in Honolulu..I just want to make it clear on this matter, I noticed that is says in my notice of action form(.I-797C)..that NO Cellphones,Cameras and other recording devices permitted..they were in bold capital letters..does it mean that I CANNOT bring my cellphone at all? Does it mean that I have to leave my cellphone at home? I live in Maui and I have a baby and my cellphone is so important to me to get in touch with my parents in-law who'll watch my son...please enlighten me on this matter...thanks so much in advance guys.

I wouldn't bring it. We just finished the biometrics here and when we went in they let us keep the phones as they would melt outside in the sun. They made us turn them off and told us if you turn it on while in here we will escort you out. At that point you would miss your biometrics and be in a pickle!

The consulates wouldn't even let them in the door. Powered on or off.

I've been to the Applocation Support Center in Houston a half dozen times to have my fingerprints scanned for various USCIS applications and UK visa applications. Every time, my appointment notice has said that cellphones were not permitted. Every time, I left my phone in the car. Every time, I was asked by the security guard if I had a cell phone with me. Several times, people who had cell phones were told to go out to their cars and leave the phones there. They do not have a place where you can leave your phone while you wait.

I don't know about Honolulu, but in Houston, the longest I've spend in the building is 20 minutes. Leave your phone in your car or take a friend with you who can wait outside with your phone.

Nothing is certain, but if you explain that to them, they may let you turn it off and put it in your bag.

That's weird - when I went for my biometrics in Riverside CA, they didn't ask about cell phones and I even had text convo with hubby... :) Just on silent mode... maybe some places are more strict on them.
