hi to everyone again,i will be moving to NY after next week.im so excited cos finally i will be with my baby. anyways, i am a nursing graduate here in my country but i doubt if i can work by this year as a nurse cos i know i still have to take and pass the NCLEX-RN exam. so before doing the review and taking it, are there still job oppurtunities for me related in my field? cos i dont want to be staying home always and i wanna help my fiance in our financial expenses. and also i wanna know what we need to do first for me to be able to get an EAD? cos i think LAX doesnt give any temporary EAD. do we need to get marry first and apply for AOS and EAD? pls enlighten me..thank u..

Correct on that LAX does not issue the 90-day EAD (only JFK does).

Maybe get a non-nursing job at a hospital such as in the billing department until you pass the exam, that way when you are ready and the nursing jobs become available you will have an 'in'?

do i need to get a SSN and adjust my status before i can apply for any jobs? can i apply for EAD without adjusting my status yet.?

No! Do NOT apply for an EAD without sending in your AOS forms first.. I did that and it was a BIG mistake.. You wont get it anyways and they wont refund your money back... (you can also send in your EAD with your AOS forms, but dont do it before..)

Being a nurse in the phillipines put you at at advantage, There are lot of pinays in NY, specially in Nursing, Lot of the hospital out here bring nurses from the PI, that will help you a lot as far as networking. I wish you a safe journey home to your hubby.

i believe you can start out as a nurses assistant in nursing home, maybe till u pass ur nclex that will give you experience.....theres lots of stuff u can do, ok i will talk to u later! u can do that in hospital also.... B)
