US Embassy Immigrations Interviews of Parents of U.S. Citizens (IR-5)

Can we get input from VJ members who've had their mother/father go through an IR-5 Immigrations interview? From research it appears these interviews are perfunctory in nature since USCIS has already approved the petition(s) and the consulate is not supposed to conduct their own "investigation". However, how are the interviews actually going down at the embassies? Are they truly simple questions concerning the relationship and life of the petitioner in the US? Or, are they much more in-depth than this?

Well .... the whole process is nothing more but a mystery. Even though the peition gets approved, NVC here approves the case, the consulate in Islamabad can still ask for more or do their own review. Its like a hit or miss kind of situation. If the pfficer is in a good mood then its a piece of cake else it can be very rough.

One would think that if you can prove your parents are your parents (birth certificates, marriage certificate of parents), parents haven't had run-ins with the law or have medical issues to make them ineligible, and parents never overstayed their visa or worked illegally in the US, they should be fine.
