Joint Bank Account with US Citizen Wife

So my wife has an account at Wells Fargo. Are we able to have a joint account since I don't have a SSN?

When my husband and I opened our joint account with Wells Fargo we were told we would need two forms of ID, one of which could be a SSN. Once you have a second form of ID you should be OK, however, I'm not 100% sure as I used my social.

Yes I have a joint bank account with my husband and I don't have an SSN. It was easy to set up... it just gets tricky if you ever have to call customer servicer! Trying to activate my new visa card which had my name on it but my husband's SSN was a nightmare!!! but it can be done!

What bank is that? I know some are more strict than others from what i've been reading.

I have a Wells Fargo joint account and a national penn joint account... I did have to appear in person with my passport..

Yes, you can do that. We changed my wife's account into joint before I got SSN. Like mentioned before, in the bank they just asked for 2 forms of ID. And my foreign passport with K-1 visa qualified for both, because they counted K-1 visa as a 2nd ID since it has photo, name and other information.

We were able to set up joint checking and saving accounts at Bank of America as well adding me to my now husband's existing accounts, and using 2 pieces of identification - my passport with my K- 1 visa and my Ontario Driver's License. I did not have my SSN yet. The bank official told me that I did need to inform them when I got my SSN as they would need the information eventually, which I did.

I think Kathryn41 has already answered your question adn I had to provide the same thing I think - BTW they wouldn't have a clue what to do with your Canadian SIN
