Oh and btw there are some decent paying blue collar jobs here in Alaska if you have the skills and don't mind working in -60+ temps. for 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and sometimes 6 weeks at a time until you can fly back to civilization. Oil rigs on the sea up here pay even more depending on your trade.

As far as Amby being the only wealthy person on VJ... how do you know this and what constitutes wealthy in your book? Do you have access to everyone's bank records that post on here? I'm far from being what I would consider wealthy but I get by and my line of work allows me plenty of travel time, I can work a 6 week hitch.and take a month off to travel to wherever my heart desire and my bank account allows. I don't save my money for a retirement condo in Florida....I usually blow it on booze, broads and whatever floats my boat at the time. Our room and board is paid for, all the food we can eat 24/7 and that includes steak, prime rib, king crab, prawns, etc, maid service, game rooms, swimming pools, etc..... they even pay for our tools and work clothes. The companies up on the Alaska North Slope are global... the outfit I work for has offices in Russia, Brazil, Dubai, Singapore Texas, Alaska, Canada ,etc... and that's how it is for most companies up here including Chevron, BP, Exxon, ENI, etc... it's oil and gas, not schlepping stick it notes at a local five and dime.

It's funny how some people who choose to live in a bubble like to pass judgment on others while discussing someone's work and/or financial situatiopn when it's obvious they don't have a clue on the subject. I tell you what...you let me know if you want a job up here working as a roustabout on a drilling rig and I'l see what strings I can pull to get you that job just so you can have a clue,

I would like an American husband, in fact, I would prefer it — much easier. But, alas, I met this dude and we get on well, so, that's life!
