Lets show the mods some love !

We are showing them that we can conduct a discussion and air our complaints without it turning into a cesspool. I hope the amnesty stands, having Kip and Penny back brought a much needed boost here. Things had gotten mighty stale.

"Brass Balls" doesn't do her justice. It's more like tempered steel. I did most of my court via cell phone up at my work ..call in for my hearings, etc... and somehow she got my cell # and blocked her # and called me about a half hour before I had my court and wished me luck and then laughed a laugh that only Dracula could do. It made the hair on the back of my neck stand up and it was because of that I fixed my phone to where it doesn't accept blocked calls. This gal is the demon from h3ll. Paybacks are a b1tch though and she screwed the wrong guy this time. According to the gal at the USCIS office it sounds like she's a shoe in to get deported and once she's back there it's my turn. Belarus is like most any Eastern European country ... you can get anything you want if you got the cash. She knows this and trust me she's sweating it big time.

yeah TboneTx generally acts like he is dealing with adults and acts accordingly. Others could take note of the way he handles people.

I think he and Kathryn explain themselves well and handle the situations respectfully. I know we're not going to agree with everything, but I like to be able to state my point of view and actually have someone listen to it and respect it, even if they don't agree with it. And I show the same respect and listen to the other side. Even if they are wrong.

That was a joke before anyone gets hot under the collar.

Expecting moderators to be someone's "editor" is a little much. He knows what he can say and not say I'm sure.

No actually we have no clue because they deleted it, and we have no idea what it was that crossed the line.

If we had a way to know what the offending speech was we could learn. Of course it is my understanding they don't want to get put on a black list,.

Just sayin' if I had to comb through one of his novels after a report and had no interest in the context, I'd delete it too. I wouldn't waste time censoring the post. But then I wouldn't do any of it for free.

I have the post in a notification email. If Kip wants, I'll copy and paste it and send it to him via pm and he can make a couple of edits and repost it. It is good stuff!! You guys are all jealous because I read it and you missed it. That is mighty fine writing.

They obviously know Kip and Penny are posting again, and haven't banned them yet. Maybe not amnesty, but surely a step in a positive direction.

But they do clean up TOS violations. A lot. Not too long ago that term probably wouldn't have raised an eyebrow here. What I'm getting anyway is, we don't know what's ok and no ok to post in many cases. Slang didn't seem to be a big deal here until AJ's abbreviation of Chinese Communist. There was a whole thread on what was ok or not. Some terms are obvious, others not so much, IMO. Until gay immigration started, just about anything concerning gays was ok to post. Now that we have gays in the forum, it's not ok to post some of that. But IMO, if it's not ok now, which it isn't, it never should have been ok.

I agree that poster owns it with a clear violation, but I have seen similar posts never get touched, yet alone deleted. Some do get edited, even in Current Events. I'm not in any way saying this to bash moderation. I am trying to provide some feedback, that's all. This place has been in an uproar, and I think this thread has provided a positive place for some venting and suggestions. Obviously Admin is allowing Penny and Kip to post or they would have been nuked at once. It seems to me that our voices are at least being heard. Maybe nothing will change, but it's better to provide constructive feedback than just bashing moderation all the time.

Bingo you nailed it. Half the battle is that when a mistake is made we learn nothing from it. As an old plant manager, if every time we had a QC problem, QC fixed and did not tell us, we would make the same error over and over. Also what you might consider offensive or hate speech might be perfectly normal in my world and vice versa.

Example when my wife and I first got married, i playfully said to her one day "you must be crazy". No big deal for people raised here, and it basically means " you must be kidding me"

I found out very quickly that it is very insulting in her culture. Lesson learned.

Well I think hey are letting us blow off steam some is all. The amnesty is just on their next mods meeting this week. It could fail and we are all gone soon thereafter.

Yes the thread has been fun and no one got hurt. i hate, he who's name i can not mention could not participate.

I also hope one or two mods take a step back and look at this and learn something about leadership. Sometimes half the battle is how you approach people. TboneTX being a good example of how to do it properly. Yes he has admined me before, if that is a word.

That's possible too, but ordinarily Penny and Kip would have been nuked immediately. I doubt there will be a mass banning after the meeting, they aren't going to ban anyone new over the venting. They may not tolerate it in the future, but no way there will be repercussions. I'm just hoping that they allow Kip and Penny to stay and continue posting, provided that they are interested in doing so. Things got interesting real quick yesterday. And I still want to hear the rest of Kip's story.

Agree. I am sure Kathryn does not have a easy job. I will say that even when I totally disagree with her, she was respectful.
