good luck. florida gives me the creeps and i've never even been.

Thanks Val! There definitely are some creepy places and people in Fla, but I suppose they're everywhere. We certainly have them here in Mass as well. We're gonna take some time and do a lot of research on where we want to be, then I'll make some calls and send out some resumes to prospective employers. Of course there's always the chance that I'll get cold feet, I did once before when planning the same thing, but I hope not.

i have some friends that moved to florida after highschool and they really like it. or at least they're still there so it can't be all bad. mostly they're beach lovers so i think they'd be happy living anywhere within a half hour of a warm beach.

One of my best friends from child hood just made the move 3 months ago and it really got me thinking about where I'm at and why. After thinking about it, other than my job, there really is no "why" that's big enough to keep me here. So I figured I would look into it.

It was funny how I found out about my buddy moving to Florida. I need the front stairs on my house replaced and he and his brother do construction on the side, so I sent him a message on fb asking him if he'd like to do the job. He answered back "I'd love too, but don't think I can from "Florida". Make a long story short he had some family troubles with his Mom and Sister and just decided it was time for a change. He's single with no kids and just packed up and left. He's living in Pompano Beach and working with his cousin installing lanai porches.

Now Vals, what good is it judging a place you've never been?

works for me, i mean everywhere is basically the same.

i'm starting to look forward to my contract being up, which coincides with my kid turning 18. i don't know where i'm going but i can't stay here, i need to settle down outside of this valley. where that is though i don't know yet.

They'll stay coldest if you don't make the move. Really excited for you.

I suspect you may have met a Swamp Yankee or two then.

Can we all move to Florida and start a VJ compound?

Lib is down as long as he can bring all of his guns. You might need a bigger bunker.

Seems the Swamp Yankees have reproduced like bunny rabbits and have taken over the joint. I don't ever remember there being so many rude and self centered people here before. My wife helped open my eyes to it even more. When she came here she was beyond belief at how rude the people are and the way they treated her. She even asked me if people could tell she was Canadian and they didn't like her because of that, lol. I guess over time I just got used to it.

I am all for this. We can begin plans for "Survivor: VJ Edition" immediately. Each week the loser who gets voted off the compound gets thrown into the Everglades.

That's what I'm talking about! But we have to modify the rules a bit. I know for a fact the black dude always goes first, so, being the legal eagle you are, draft up something that keeps me in the running for at least a few weeks...

I agree. We need to at least make it look like we gave the black guy a chance. Appearances matter!
