Well, I'm working on this memo for my boss. Client doesn't want windmills to go up (I suspect NIMBYism). There's an argument that wind power is being propped up artificially by tax credits and other subsidies, so there's an artificial incentive to use wind. If those are taken away (the tax credit is dead right now, but could be resuscitated) then wind power will become more expensive, and the higher demand for wind will fall. In some places, wind producers actually pay the grid to take the power off of them. So the question is, if you take away subsidies from what's supposed to be a mature industry, can it stand on its own?

However, my background is in responsible investment, and I am generally pro-wind, so this is hard for me to write. I'm trying to check my libturd tendencies at the office door. I should try channelling LIB, might help!

If you need an environmental angle - throw some dead bats in there then for good measure.

Since many North American bats are suffering white nose syndrome already, one could argue windfarms are speeding up their extinction.

You would understand this. We went to a beautiful mnt town this weekend. we walked the town, which is about 4-5 blocks. Must have stopped and take 3000 pictures. I now measure how far something is in PPPH. Pinay pictures per hour.

Bird angle is no good. It always leads the discussion to the fact that cats actually kill way more birds than wind power generator blades ever will. Pointing this out makes kitteh angry. And you know that you do not want to anger kitteh.
