Opposing views is what makes a discussion board work. If you remove the opposing views, you might as well just sit in front of a mirror and talk to yourself.

What? I think you guys are forgetting the range of what people can post. I wouldn't hang out on a board that was filled with racism, hate speech, illegal activity, rape fantasies, murder plots, etc. I don't think it's childish to want people like that removed.

Except we're not talking about someone like that, we are/were talking about The Truth(or at least I am). NB made the "good riddance" comment aimed at The Truth, that's what I was referring to.

There is a difference indeed. Some post controversial subjects for the purpose of discussion or information gathering, whereas some posts are just baiting and trolling filled with hate. The latter should have no place in this forum, for there are many other websites that welcome, embrace and divulge their myopic view of the universe.

She was really one to talk down to people and border on if not cross the line of personal insults. But, I'm a big boy and I can handle. I don't use the Report button to tell on folks during an argument like some folks 'round here.

I don't think strong words are "hysteria," and I don't think either are uncivil. I think many people read too much into people's posts here. Remember, there are people from all over the country and all over the globe here.

Yeah, having an intelligent, well spoken woman around is bad for the good ole boy morale.

I may not have agreed with everything The Truth said, but she usually voiced her opinions respectfully. I'll miss her input here.

There are a couple more around here that demand civility and hit the report button the second they feel they have been insulted, but have no problem insulting people

I don't mean this in a disrespectful way, but from what I've seen you post here regarding our female members, I think you have a propensity to be intimidated by smart women who know how to speak their mind.
