I have my AOS interview next week . On the other hand there is no sign of my EAD or AP being actioned. Is this the norm now ? I was expecting the dual card to arrive sometime 60-90 days after NOA and then the GC at some indetermninate point much later.

Am I wrong to think that an AOS interview (from K1) indicates that the C-GC will arrive sooner rather than later after the interview.

The EAD/AP card is to allow you to work and travel while waiting for your green card to be approved. If you are lucky enough to get an interview and approval for the green card before the EAD/AP card is issued, then you don't need the EAD/AP.

All sent together and NOA'ed at the same time too so the timetables seem to have diverged for reasons best known to USCIS. I know they're not handled by the same group but it's odd that the EAD/AP seem to be proceeding slower than than the AOS.

What I really need is the AP so I can go back to the UK in the summer.

EAD/AP are on separate timelines now and unrelated to one another.

If you get your GC interview really fast, then you won't have enough time for EAD/AP to be approved, and won't need it either (assuming you are approved). GC trumps all these temporary permissions.

I am aware that the GC trumps the EAD/AP card - I just worry that the GC only process may be longer than the EAD/AP process would have been on it's own. Mind you , what's the point of worrying Uncle Sam will do want Uncle Sam wants to do....

First challenge - getting into SF the morning after Memorial Day - interview is at 08:35am......

What is there to worry about?

If the GC process is longer, then EAD/AP is approved in 3 months.

If the GC process is shorter than 3 months, then you get a GC.

All are good things.
