Thanks Jarodca for keeping the thread up.

Looking forward to hearing back from you about the medical/interview experience.

I'm a DV2015 selectee too, though my CN is AF42*** so I'm still a bit behind schedule.

And I will need to make a long trip from the west coast till Montreal for the interview (worst part of the process) :(

Based on visa bulletins issued so far when should I expect an interview?

Thank you!

If you're on the west coast, and going to the doctor in Surrey BC, then the medical experience wasn't too bad.

Before the medical I went to a clinic, got a Titer blood test done which showed what immunities I already had, then went to a travel clinic and got any missing ones for my age group.

I had a few operations when younger, but didn't have the medical records. Turned out I didn't need them (probably depends on the operations).

When you get to the doctor, the receptionist/assistant goes over all your paperwork, including proof of vaccinations. She said I was the first diversity lottery patient this year and congratulated me. Everyone was friendly, including the doctor.

The doctor just looked me over (naked time!) and asked a few questions. It was over in about 15 mins. They then give you some forms to go to the clinic up the street and get an x-ray and blood test.

That clinic was crowded! I waited over an hour, but the x-ray and then the blood test (at a different lab in the same building) were over in about 10 mins.

Oh thank you for the valuable info!! I'm a Vancouverite indeed :)

Actually if you don't mind how was this medical thing cost-wise?

Cheers

The medical exam is $280 for adults. The x-ray and blood test are included.

I had to get two booster shots for vaccinations, and those were $75 each.

Usually you can go pick up the results of your medical in a sealed envelope the next day.

Hello,

Thank god finally we got approved yesterday, and back home toronto from Montreal !!

Here's my journey a big thanks to you guys it's time to give back

We booked a night at square Philips hotel me, my wife and my baby 5min away from the us consulate, got a good night of sleep (I tried :) ), with hotel valet for the car ($20 a day ) and luggage storage, I left everything at the hotel, just took my paper work and some Toys and food for my baby, we arrived around 8:05am our appointment was at 8:30am I don't advice anyone to go earlier then 30min ( thanks zurom999 for the tip ), just one person ahead of us as soon as we lined the guard called us in, a nice lady checked our loomis for the courier service, went through the security check just like the airport, and we head down stair as instructed by the security guard straight to the elevator no escort, we were 4 in the elevator ones at the 19th floor a nice visa receptionist checked our passport and gave us the ticket with the mention of applicant#4 we waited 10min and before been called by a lady ( had a rough morning looks like it :) ) to window #2 , asked my wife (principle applicant) for the passports and the appointment letter and she asked us to go pay the fees, and sit down and wait to be called, after 15min called by the same lady at the window #2 but this time she seems nicer spend almost 20min handing her the documents as she was asking them without the order of the check list, took our fingerprints, asked us to sit and wait to be called, 30min later we got called by a really nice lady to window#7 more privacy room, she asked us to read a consent that was taped on the window, she went through the documents and returned to us the original ones and start asking my wife, how long have you been married? What's your highest level of education? How about your husband? For how long have you been in Canada? Where are you planning to live in us? And why? And after that she start typing on the keyboard computer and said your visa is approved welcome to the United States, I said: that's it ,and she smiled and said: that's it. We were out by 10:10am

Very good experience, no documents was missing or asked in addition what was in the check list, let me give some tips:

1- don't go earlier than 30 minutes from your interview time.

2- if you're married get two copies of your marriage certificate.

3- the interview is very important to you treat it as such and wear a nice outfit (don't be over dressed).

4- don't take anything else then your documents leave everything in the hotel storage if you can.

Good luck to everyone waiting for the interviews.

As to whether I've already gone to the Embassy: no, my interview will probably be this October or November. I just settled on an online translation company after reading the "if you've been selected" instructions, reading these forums, and other sources.

The translation does have a stamp (see picture), its just a printed one on the certification page. If you want to, you can find a certified translator in person and get a translation with a physical stamp, but most probably they will also just print something instead of stamping it.

Hi zuroma999,

You said you used https://www.rev.com/translation/certifiedfor the translations.

Did the consulate accept their online translations?

Thanks for confirming whether this actually worked!

Hi preguntas. Yes, they had no problem with it and accepted it.

Hi preguntas. Yes, they had no problem with it and accepted it.

Another question for you, if I may...

Did you have to register your Montreal appointment online (i.e. the one already scheduled by KCC)?

Or did you just go to the interview? (after completion of medical).

Thanks a lot for your input!

P.

ps:

if my question is unclear, I am referring to what the Montreal instructions say below:

<<STEP 1: REGISTER FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT ONLINE

Please visit https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/iv/information/iv_servicesand follow

instructions to register your NVC/KCC appointment online.

Select IV Service:

"I need to an Immigrant Visa appointment"

IMPORTANT:

PLEASE REGISTER YOUR APPOINTMENT ONLINE BEFORE GOING TO YOUR INTERVIEW.

IF YOU DO NOT, THERE MAY BE A DELAY IN THE RETURN OF YOUR VISA AND PASSPORT

The link you sent is a different website than the one from last year for me, so they changed it slightly. When I did it, after the appointment letter from KCC, I followed the PDF document which had montreal instructions in it. Make sure you download that current pdf from http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/diversity-visa/interview/prepare-for-the-interview.html

So last year all I had to do was create an account on the montreal website and then register for courier services. It looks different now.

When you received the KCC appointment letter, did it say to register your appointment on the site? If not, I would suggest on the first page of the website to choose "none of the above" since the KCC already scheduled your appointment but did not tell you to register it. You'll then probably still have to register an account on the website and do whatever else it says.

Hi zuroma999,

Please could you confirm whether you were asked to provide these documents on interview day?

  • Copy of the U.S. petitioner status in the USA

  • Copies of documents proving petitioners U.S. domicile

Cheers

Not zuroma, not Canada, but that sounds like generic immigrant visa requirements not DV - because you don't have a petitioner for DV.

That's exactly what i thought about, though I still need to confirm with zuroma999 since he's gone through the process @ Montreal.

What Suzie said is accurate and that wording you posted doesn't apply to the DV and they never asked me for those docs.

Thank you zuroma999!

I'm also wondering if I can put my address at a package pickup facility in Point Roberts, WA to get my green card over there?

It's much more convenient for me than my host's address in CA since I won't be moving for good till around April 2016 and I'll need to validate my visa beforehand.

Cheers
